Position Overview

In this senior-level role, you will spearhead the creation of superior user experiences at Lean Tech by leveraging your expertise in UX/UI design. The primary focus is on leading design initiatives to produce intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling interfaces within our cloud-based applications. As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will have a significant impact on maintaining and developing comprehensive design systems that align with Material-UI (MUI) components, supporting our front-end development efforts using ReactJS. You will collaborate with various teams, including product owners and developers, to translate business requirements into innovative design solutions while adhering to agile methodologies. Unique aspects of this role include mentoring junior designers, championing accessibility standards in line with WCAG, and utilizing advanced responsive design and user research skills to continuously improve user experiences. Your contributions will enhance our design excellence and drive innovation within our product ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and prototyping of intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces using advanced design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
• Create and maintain comprehensive design systems in alignment with Material-UI (MUI) components and themes, ensuring design consistency and excellence.
• Develop detailed wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for sophisticated web applications, focusing on responsive design principles.
• Conduct rigorous user research and usability testing, analyzing user feedback to inform and iterate on design decisions.
• Collaborate extensively with front-end developers, ensuring precise implementation of designs using ReactJS and Material-UI components.
• Define, document, and uphold UI/UX standards, guidelines, and best practices within the organization.
• Create comprehensive user journey maps, personas, and scenarios to align stakeholders and guides design processes.
• Optimize designs for various devices and screen sizes using responsive design principles, with a strong understanding of animations and micro-interactions.
• Stay updated with the latest UX/UI design trends while mentoring junior designers and providing guidance on design implementations.
• Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices, enhancing user experiences for diverse audiences.
• Participate actively in sprint planning and agile ceremonies, contributing design expertise to cross-functional teams.
• Manage design assets and deliverables using version control systems like Github, ensuring efficient collaboration and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in UX/UI design for web applications
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch
• Extensive experience with Material Design systems and Material-UI (MUI) components
• Strong understanding and implementation of responsive design principles
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing
• Familiarity with ReactJS and component-based design principles
• Competence in animation and creating micro-interactions for web interfaces
• Intermediate experience with version control systems, specifically Github
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience working in agile environments, familiar with Jira
• Proficiency with analytics tools like Google Analytics and Hotjar

Nice to Have Skills

• Certification in UX Design or Human-Computer Interaction
• Familiarity with TypeScript for enhancing collaboration with developers
• Experience with other UI frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation
• Familiarity with a design system management tool like Zeroheight or Frontify
• Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and its influence on design
• Understanding cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions
