This is a remote position.

As a Commissioning Junior Associate at DLB Associates, you'll spend most of your time on-site, learning how to inspect, validate, and test complex electrical and mechanical systems. JOB SUMMARY
The Commissioning Junior Associate will have the opportunity to engage in comprehensive training to learn to provide technical support to plan, schedule and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities.  This person observes and participates in the MEP design review process and in functional testing of complex electrical and mechanical systems.

The Commissioning Junior Associate will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  They will work under immediate supervision and learn to navigate the business environment.  This person will be expected to learn company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist with On-site Inspection, Validation, Testing and Verification of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment (50%)

  • Observe and participate in factory witness testing

  • Observe startup activities

  • Learn to use technical equipment to perform testing

  • Observe and learn about functional testing of equipment and electrical, mechanical and controls systems

  • Troubleshoot system components

Assist with Development of Testing Plans and Procedures (20%)

  • Assist in the development of commissioning plans

  • Assist with preparation of pre-functional checklists

  • Assist with preparation of functional performance test scripts

Assist in the Review of Construction Related Design Documents, Drawings and Specifications (15%)

  • Learn to review shop drawings and submittals

  • Learn to review sequence of operations

  • Assist in commissioning focused design reviews

Reporting (15%)

  • Assist in the preparation of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders

  • Assist in preparation and contributes to final commissioning report

  • Manage personal hours using company tools

Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned


Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (BEGINNER LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls system principles
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if required
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Frequently descending / ascending stairs and ladders to access equipment
  • On occasion the employee may be required to position self under or over equipment
  • On occasion the employee may move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Berwick, PA
  • Fort Wayne, IN
  • Dallas TX

  • Daily travel to one of our preferred job sites. 
  • Flexibility to travel up 75% travel to other job site locations if needed, this may include travel to any of the 50 US states
  • International travel may be required based on individual skill, training and project needs
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
