As part of Specialty Program Groups' Delegated Underwriting Authority unit, Catapult Insurance Solutions offers creative program insurance solutions & wholesale brokerage for niche industries & hard-to-place risks.
SUMMARY
The ideal Junior Underwriter candidate will be responsible for supporting the underwriting team by reviewing and analyzing data to determine next steps. They will provide an in-depth review and support on an account basis to facilitate the underwriting process. This position will have a strong focus on the construction segment including builder’s risk, property and general liability/XS lines of business.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/BACKGROUND Minimum 5 years commercial underwriting experience, with a focus on the construction segment a plus. Must be able to work independently and build strong client and company relationships. Bachelor’s degree is desired but not required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS Must be deemed to effectively speak, read, write, and effectively comprehend English. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must possess basic math skills. Ability to perform these basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.
Ability to calculate premiums based on exposures and rates. Ability to apply payments and/or refunds to specific invoices and item numbers.
INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS Licensing and designations preferred but not required.

WORK LOCATION: This position requires eligible candidates to reside in either Ohio or Texas.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
