Description of Task to be Performed:
Come join our growing team and make a difference every day! AnaVation is seeking an experienced Network System Engineer to join an exciting work program. The successful candidate will have experience with designing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and monitoring large enterprise networks, preferably in federal government environments, and in following Agile processes using the SAFe framework.

Key responsibilities include:
· Serve as senior member of a high performing technical team to deliver customer mission requirements.
· Apply Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) routing and switching principles to practical solutions.
· Perform multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving.
· Ability to configure, maintain, and upgrade LAN/WAN design and topology.
· Install/configure LAN/WAN hardware and maintain wiring closets and nomenclature.
· Monitor with standard network management and packet analysis tools.
· Manage Cisco and other hardware, including consumer-grade routers and switches.
· Plan, implement, and administer perimeter security and firewalling.
· Evaluate new technologies and make design recommendations for a more efficient and cost-effective network infrastructure.
· Utilize the SAFe methodology and principles to align and collaborate product delivery of Agile teams.
· Mentor team members and ensure quality of technical support and contractual deliverables.

This position is mostly remote, but may potentially require occasional trips to our customer location in Clarksburg, WV. Remote status is expected to continue, but is subject to change according to the direction of the customer.

This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and, if requested by the customer, the ability to successfully pass a polygraph and obtain SCI accesses.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education (degree strongly preferred)
  • Experience: 8 years (minimum)
  • Required Skills/Certs:
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure certification is REQUIRED.
  • Two to five years of experience with firewall configuration and load balancing.
  • Understanding of common network protocols, including TCP/IP, User Datagram Protocol (UDP).
  • Expert knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)/Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) routing protocol.
  • Understand of all aspects of Virtual Private Network (VPN) design and configuration.
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Expert level network troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving.
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Required Clearance:
  • This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and, if requested by the customer, the ability to successfully pass a polygraph and obtain SCI accesses.
