Job description

As a Database Administration Manager, you will be responsible for the management, performance, security, and scalability of Qore’s database infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering teams to optimize database performance, ensure data integrity, and implement best practices in database administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Optimize SQL Server (2016–2019) databases for efficiency and scalability.
  • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve database architecture and optimize queries.
  • Maintain database documentation, procedures, and governance policies.
  • Monitor disk usage, system performance, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.
  • Update and maintain Git repositories with database-related code and scripts.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Database Administration.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server (2016–2019) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) v18.4 and above.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies, including high-availability solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud database technologies (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot complex data issues, and provide solutions.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to mentor junior database administrators.
