SUMMARY

Responsible for analyzing sales data and trends in an on-going effort to increase long-term sales and profit goals. Supports Westlake Royal Building Products Roofing & Stone Divisions. The team performs a variety of tasks centered on improving decision making through analysis of current and historical sales, competitive movement and decisions, and industry trends and how they may impact sales. This position works closely with all facets of the organization including upper-level management, sales and sales management, finance, pricing, marketing, customer service, and product development, providing insight and support allowing for increased company efficiencies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise one (1) Sales Analyst

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Directly supports the Sales team members for the WRBP Roofing & Stone business unit

  • Conduct market research on competitors. Develop data driven analytics that benchmark market trends to help with the overall sales strategy.

  • Forge a deep understanding of the SAP platform for Roofing & Stone and the raw data and existing reports available to support the creation of reporting

  • Conduct research on key customers to help the sales team determine key partners for long term success

  • Develop standardized sales reports for the Director of Sales, Regional Managers and Territory Managers, showing historical and current territory and regional trends in their markets using existing business intelligence tools (SAP, SAP BI, SalesForce)

  • As the expert, works closely with the VP of Sales to evolve sales incentive programs and oversees all commission plan calculations and processing for various salespeople on SIPs.

  • Support the Sales Directors with determining Volume Incentive Programs for customers by analyzing historical data, sales trends and current account profitability

  • Constructs ad hoc presentations and analysis for Sales Management for key Customer Meetings.

  • Designs and tracks monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team and leadership team

  • Develop the monthly and YTD updates for the VP’s monthly business review call

  • Amend Monthly Sales forecasts based on latest trends and collates data to create annual sales budget

  • Provide analysis to support RFP’s and contracts to evaluate new regional and national builder opportunities. Develop profitability analysis for key customers.

  • Analyzes competitive pricing quotes and provides guidance to Sales and Sales Management on the quote based on analysis, experience and acquired market information.  Work together with pricing departments, sales, & finance to create/modify, distribute, and implement meaningful pricing tools and information to sales.

  • Build a close relationship with Finance to understand current costs and P&L factors that are needed in profitability analysis of existing & new business opportunities

  • Measures our existing pricing by market and offers suggestions and opinions on proposed adjustments based on market data and profitability analysis.

  • Work with Supply Chain to understand potential material increases and the impact they will have on overall cost of products along with increases needed to improve margins

  • Support Sr. Management during the annual budget process with growth input modeling and building the budget presentation

  • Involved in the monthly finance close process helping to ensure accuracy of the accruals for commissions, rebates, deal programs

  • Conducts market research and analysis, market and product trends and targeted key distributor information.

  • Works cross functionally with other Westlake Housing & Infrastructure analyst teams on best practices and larger combined reporting

  • Contribute reporting for cross-functional teams like Product Management, Marketing & Operations

  • Develops the analyst on the team to grow their knowledge inside and outside of current job role

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics or related field

  • Master’s Degree (MBA or related) is a plus

  • 6-8 years’ experience in sales analysis, data analytics or a similar role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of financial metrics and sales KPIs

  • Ability to perform complex analysis such as regression, forecasting and probability modeling

  • Demonstrate advanced spreadsheet, and database application skills (SAP/COPA Webi Reports)

  • Experience with SAP CRM systems, Power Query, and Power BI

  • Proficient us of MS Office applications including Word, Excel (Pivot Tables), PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, detail oriented and results driven

  • Results-oriented to ensure deliverables are submitted in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion

  • Articulates analysis in a clear and concise manner

  • Exhibit the ability, over time, to distill data into meaningful insights and suggestions to improve sales

  • Anticipates questions and prepares appropriate responses or answers

  • Constructively challenges business partner assumptions and goals
