Job description

Why Praxent?

We get it. You have options. Let us tell you why we’re different. Our work is changing the world of financial services. Everyday, clients arrive with big ideas for their industry. They’re experts in their field with the vision and resources you need to change everything. All that’s left is the right team to bring that vision to life. If you’re a fast learner and you love working on a wide variety of projects, you’re going to like it here. We help our clients modernize, rather than rebuild, outdated customer-facing software applications. Our clients see a return within weeks instead of months and that’s why they choose us.

At Praxent, we let you do your work your way. We’re a team of 130+ located throughout the United States and Central/South America. Our role is to encourage you, support you, and give you the freedom you need to thrive. Whether you’re working at home, in a coffee shop, or heck, even on your travels, we’re here to create an environment that lets you live your best life. On your terms.

We trust our people to be their best. It’s a level of autonomy and respect that’s helped us grow a diverse and brilliant team of experts. Experts who also happen to be some of the best colleagues you’ve ever worked alongside

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Team members may live in the following locations: Mexico, El Salvador, & Brazil.

Your Mission: Lead development teams to ensure sprint commitments are met

  • Cultivate Camaraderie: Foster a collaborative environment where team members can experiment with and learn AI/ML concepts—and openly share knowledge about best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Engineer Value: Drive the design and implementation of AI solutions, including data processing pipelines, AI/ML model deployment, and the creation of AI agents aligned with user and business needs.
  • Ensure Quality: Establish AI testing and validation best practices (e.g., performance metrics, data quality checks, model explainability) to maintain high standards for model accuracy and reliability.
  • Eliminate Ambiguity: Provide clear direction on AI project scope and feasibility, ensuring alignment between business requirements, data availability, and model complexity.
  • Give Feedback: Mentor developers on AI coding standards, framework usage (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face), and best practices for integrating intelligent functionalities.
  • Improve Delivery: Propose new processes and habits to streamline the delivery of our engagements.
  • Evaluate Skills: Conduct recruiting interviews and analyze candidates to ensure successful hiring/contracting.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Key Activities: Plan, delegate, add technical subtasks to user stories based on API research, tech spikes, and first feature development
  • How a Current Praxenter Describes The Role: “I spend a lot of the sprint planning and delegating technical work for other devs, anticipating how to deliver as much value for the client via efficiency and tech debt prevention. This has the added benefit of allowing assigned devs to grow technically while also reducing as many unknowns as possible in the cone of uncertainty. It’s my job to keep in sync with delivery leads on priorities, team allocation, risks, etc, as well as act as the technical interface for the client to help guide them without overloading them with technical jargon.”

Your Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in programming AI solutions
    • Experience building, training, and deploying AI agents; adept with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and cloud-based AI services.
    • Demonstrable proficiency with all of the following: building attractive user interfaces, building data-driven REST APIs, administering databases/cloud/servers.
  • Practical Experience: 8-12 years professional experience in relevant technology and projects, including value engineering, system architecture, and software estimation, as well as technical leadership with DevOps and Cloud-Based deployment. Hands-on experience architecting AI solutions at scale—setting up end-to-end pipelines, handling large datasets, and optimizing models for production environments.
  • Client Leadership: Experience presenting to client stakeholders and communicating technical and business value. Ability to articulate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating the ROI of AI-driven initiatives and aligning them with client objectives.
  • Outcome Orientation: Experience understanding and articulating the business outcomes that your development projects impact
  • Mentorship Experience: Experience with coaching and mentoring, demonstrated through ad-hoc collaboration and structured code reviews.
  • Relevant Education: may include intensive programs, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent experience
  • Values Alignment: We Care Deeply, Always Deliver, Never Settle, Do It Together, Own the Outcome, and approach every situation with a CAN DO mentality – learn more about our Core Values and be sure to let us know which aligns most with your experience!
