Job description

Dragonfly is a crypto-native Venture Capital and research firm with $2B+ in assets under management and 160+ portfolio companies (see list). Our Talent team works to support the recruiting efforts of the companies within our portfolio by connecting them with talented potential candidates. We have multiple companies actively hiring Protocol Engineers across different levels and specializations.

This is not a listing for an internal role at Dragonfly. This posting is for us to connect you directly with one or more of the companies in our portfolio that are actively hiring for Protocol Engineers. If this description doesn’t match your background exactly but you’re an engineer excited about crypto, we encourage you to apply—we may have other opportunities that are a better fit.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Deep experience building and deploying blockchain protocols or decentralized systems at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in Rust, Go, or other systems-level languages.
  • Experience with blockchain architecture, cryptographic primitives, or consensus algorithms.
  • Familiarity with smart contract development (CosmWasm, Solidity, or similar frameworks).
  • Interest or experience in open-source contributions, blockchain security, or crypto-native research.

About the role(s):

Depending on the team, you could be

  • Designing and shipping new blockchain protocols focused on scalability, security, and decentralization.
  • Conducting crypto and protocol research, exploring advanced cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs, and novel consensus mechanisms.
  • Building cross-chain interoperability solutions, enabling seamless communication between different blockchains.
  • Improving and upgrading existing protocols, contributing directly to live, high-impact blockchain ecosystems.
  • Collaborating on open-source initiatives working closely with crypto-native communities to push the space forward.

Even if you don’t match every point above but are a seasoned engineer passionate about crypto, we encourage you to apply. There may be other opportunities that fit your skill set.

Process:

  • We’ll confidentially match you with portfolio companies aligned with your background, skill set, and interests.
  • If mutual interest exists between you and a team, we’ll facilitate a warm introduction.
  • If there isn’t a match today, we’ll keep you top of mind for future opportunities.

Our portfolio companies are globally distributed, hiring for remote, hybrid, and in-person roles worldwide. They’re building across the entire crypto ecosystem—including DeFi, CeFi, infrastructure, L1s and L2s, creator/consumer applications, NFTs, ZK, Crypto x AI, and more. All candidate submissions are strictly confidential.

Submit your information below, and we’ll be in touch if there’s a potential fit.
