Job description

We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Boulay Transaction Group as a Supervisor (Post-Close).  This team offers advisory services to help our clients evaluate the risks and rewards of complex business transactions. Our approach is customized for each client, offering a full menu of integrated service offerings.  Our offerings include a range of financial, consulting, and valuation services to help clients achieve their investment objectives.  We work with clients in all stages of an investment’s life cycle including pre-deal diligence and modeling support, post-deal financial reporting guidance, audit readiness assistance, and investor services. 

The Boulay Transaction Group Supervisor is responsible for providing support to a specialized service offering of post-acquisition assistance to organizations that have acquired companies. This individual would be responsible for preparing engagements and working directly with client executives and business owners alongside leaders of the BTG team. You will be vital in helping our clients understand, analyze, and respond to the numerous implications of post-close accounting, such as purchase accounting and establishing opening balance sheets, post-close true-ups, and audit preparation.  This position may also provide work direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff and be responsible for the supervision of others.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and executing appropriate methodologies in technical work products of the team, including but not limited to: working capital true-ups, funds flow calculations, revenue recognition, stock compensation, and complex capital structures
  • Maintain project documentation while ensuring timely communication and tracking task completion deadlines
  • Play an integral role in developing relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Assist the valuation, financial due diligence, and audit teams as needed with transactional accounting matters
  • Ensure that “best practices” are developed and used within the Transaction Group, including policies, processes, and tools
  • Be a vital member of the Transaction Group with a shared vision and spirit of trust within the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • CPA Designation or working towards it
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of all areas of the general ledger, along with reconciliations and month-end / year-end close procedures
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial statement procedures, and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to drive client and team meetings

 

Preferred

  • Experience with QuickBooks (desktop or online) and/or other general ledger software
  • Experience with purchase accounting under ASC 805

The targeted salary range for this position is: $95,000 - $97,000. This salary range reflects the anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. The full salary range for this position is $85,000-$127,000. Final compensation may vary depending upon an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Individuals may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of incentives, commissions, profit sharing, and more, depending on the role.
