Full Stack Software Engineer at Fintech Company (Remote, PH-based only)

We are looking to build out a team of passionate and driven individuals who want to make an impact for our Full Stack Software Engineer for our New York - based client. For this role, we only process candidates that are based in the Philippines and have legal authorization to work in the Philippines.

About the role

We're looking for a strong full stack/backend engineer to join us. If your aspirations are to become VP Engineering one day, we'd like to help you get there. If you'd rather be heads-down building product for the foreseeable future, great. But either way, the latter will be your focus in the near term.

We are looking for a talented engineer to work directly with the founding team developing and implementing our backend and iOS app. We are looking for an ambitious, fast-moving, and creative individual who will address customer needs to build the best investing experience for the next generation. This may not be the right role for you if you are uncomfortable with any of the following:

1. Trying to predict the customer's needs yourself

2. Working on different parts of the stack

3. A role that will push you to learn new skill sets constantly

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the founders and lead designer to define the product roadmap and report directly to the CTO

• Help guide and implement our overall product roadmap

• Write performant and clean production level code with rigorous unit tests

• Ability and eagerness to take ownership of our backend. The backend will be your primary responsibility, but you will sometimes be implementing end to end features as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full stack/backend software development experience

• Excellent communication skills are critical

• Grounding in CS fundamentalsyou've got the broad-based knowledge needed to build a collaborative, client-server application end to end. You may need to pick up some new platforms & skills along the way but you're good at that and it's fun for you.

• You enjoy delivering delightful, polished front ends. You needn't be a designerbut you enjoy working with them and appreciate the work that goes into achieving that polish and delight.

• An interest in product strategy, a desire to collaborate, resonance with our values, and a sense of humor. A willingness to step on others' toes respectfully and kindly, and to have the same done to you.

• Experience working at small startups (not required but preffered)
