Job description

Job Description:

As DBA Advisor (Database Administrator), you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the company's and customer's DB systems. Your main responsibilities will include managing DBs and ensuring the stability, performance, and security of them. You will also provide support for DB-related issues, implement new solutions, and work closely with other IT teams to enhance DB infrastructure capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain DB on Windows and Linux (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ), ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Database Support: Provide technical support for DB administration tasks such as user management, permissions, data export/import,
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Configure and manage backup of DBs to ensure data integrity and availability, as well as develop and test disaster recovery plans of DB systems.
  • DB Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor DB performance and capacity, proactively identifying potential issues and optimizing resources for improved efficiency.
  • Documentation and Procedures: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including DB configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with other IT teams to ensure DB integration and support the implementation of new DB infrastructure projects.

Required Skills:

  • DB Administration: Strong knowledge and experience in administering SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDb, Couchbase DBMS, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • DB High Availability: Strong knowledge and experience in implementing and managing HA solutions for the main DBMSs: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDb, Couchbase DBMS (Oracle RAC and Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Innodb Cluster, )
  • DB Security: Understanding of best practices in DB security, including patch management, user management and auditing.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Experience with backup and recovery solutions of DBs and the development of disaster recovery plans.
  • Scripting and Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash to automate administrative tasks and streamline processes.
  • Operating Systems: Strong knowledge and experience in using Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Basic understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls) and how they interact with DB administration.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3/5 years of experience in DB administration, managing enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve DB issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate or Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional
  • Oracle Cloud Database Services Professional.
