Job description

Title: Associate Director, Live Event Marketing 

Department: Engagement/Marketing

Reports to: Exec Director of HCP Engagement

Job status: Full time, Exempt

Location: Remote


Summary 

The Associate Director, Live Event Marketing is responsible for driving attendance and engagement at our proprietary live and virtual events targeting healthcare professionals (HCPs), primarily in Psychiatry, Neurology, Oncology and other specialties. This role will develop and execute marketing strategies to recruit, register, and convert sign-ups into active event participants—both in-person and online. The Associate Director will lead event promotion, audience acquisition, and retention strategies, ensuring strong attendance and engagement while delivering measurable marketing impact.

 

Responsibilities: 

Event Marketing Strategy & Execution

    Develop and implement multi-channel marketing strategies to recruit and convert HCPs into event attendees, maximizing attendance and engagement.

    Own the attendee acquisition funnel, leveraging email, digital, paid media, partnerships, and other marketing channels to drive registrations.

    Optimize audience segmentation and targeting to ensure high-quality event participation.

    Analyze marketing performance data to refine strategies, improve conversion rates, and enhance ROI.

    Partner with Sales and Scientific Directors to ensure alignment between event objectives and audience engagement strategies.

Audience Engagement & Retention

    Develop pre-event engagement strategies to ensure high registration-to-attendance conversion rates.

    Implement nurture campaigns, automated reminders, and strategic touchpoints to increase live attendance.

    Leverage insights from past events to continuously improve engagement strategies.

Campaign Management & Performance Optimization

    Lead all aspects of event marketing campaigns, including messaging, creative, targeting, and execution.

    Monitor and report on campaign performance, attendee acquisition metrics, and engagement trends to stakeholders, including leadership and sales teams.

    Utilize marketing automation and CRM tools to streamline campaign execution and attendee communication and optimize campaign execution.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership

    Work closely with the Project Management, Meetings, Sales and Design teams to ensure seamless event execution and promotion.

    Align event marketing efforts with business objectives, revenue goals, and profit margins.

    Build and maintain external partnerships and industry relationships to expand event reach and impact.


Qualifications:

    7+ years of experience in event marketing, audience acquisition, or demand generation, with a focus on healthcare or professional audiences.

    Proven track record of driving attendance and engagement for live and virtual events.

    Expertise in multi-channel marketing, including email, digital advertising, social media

    Experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms (preferably Marketo).

    Strong analytical mindset with experience in marketing performance tracking and data-driven decision-making.

    Comfortable working with data, analytics, and reporting to optimize marketing strategies.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Superior organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.


Travel Requirements:

    Minimal - Up to 10% of the time between offices as needed
