Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Game Mathematician to join our iGaming casino team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and testing the mathematical models that power our casino games, ensuring they are both engaging and compliant with regulatory standards. You will work closely with Game Designers, Developers, and other stakeholders to bring innovative games to market while maintaining an in-depth focus on probability, randomness, and balance.

Key Responsibilities:

Game Mathematics and Modelling:

Design and develop the mathematical models for various casino games (slots, table games, and other RNG-based games).
Calculate and verify payout percentages, Return to Player (RTP) rates, hit frequencies, and volatility indexes for games.
Ensure mathematical models meet the balance requirements between game enjoyment and profitability.

Game Simulation:

Run extensive simulations to verify game mechanics, validate results, and troubleshoot any issues.
Adjust models and configurations based on simulation results and game design needs.

Collaboration with Game Design and Development Teams:

Collaborate with game designers to ensure mathematical models align with design and player engagement goals.
Support software engineers in the implementation of mathematical models within the game engine.
Provide data and insights to assist in the development of new game ideas and innovations.

Documentation and Compliance:

Document mathematical models, formulas, and assumptions used in game development.
Prepare detailed reports for internal reviews and external regulatory submissions.
Ensure games comply with industry regulations and licensing requirements.

Optimization and Innovation:

Continuously monitor and optimize the mathematical elements of games to ensure player engagement and profitability.
Research and experiment with innovative mathematical concepts to develop new game mechanics and player experiences.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar role in the iGaming or casino industry.
Mathematical Expertise: Strong understanding of probability theory, combinatorics, and statistical analysis as applied to gaming and casino products.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with mathematical and statistical software tools (e.g.C, C++, C#, Java & Python). Familiarity with Excel and experience running simulations in programming languages.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of online casino game mechanics, RTP, volatility, and regulatory requirements.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Communication: Ability to communicate complex mathematical concepts to non-technical team members and stakeholders effectively.
Creativity and Innovation: Strong ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to enhance game engagement and performance.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with machine learning or data science techniques in the gaming industry.
Familiarity with game development processes, scripting, and RNG algorithms.
