Job description

Overview

The Director, Global Market Access will lead all global value and access activities at Iovance. The key responsibilities of this position include developing pricing and access strategies, managing all aspects of health technology assessment (HTA) submissions, negotiating with national and regional reimbursement bodies, and creating a global evidence plan. Prior experience in all these areas is essential. This role will be an internal expert on market access for our priority international markets. They must research and understand health policies and access landscapes in our priority markets while maintaining relationships with key local stakeholders and organizations. Previous experience in oncology or rare diseases is a must, and cell therapy experience is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should be a highly collaborative, innovative, and solutions-oriented critical thinker and problem solver.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated global market access strategy. 
  • Manage and lead vendors to develop the economic model and global value dossiers for health technology assessment submissions.
  • Develops global pricing and innovative contracting strategy and leads negotiations with payers in priority markets. 
  • Develop and execute a complete implementation plan to obtain reimbursement in priority markets that considers early access, HTA, additional reimbursement, payer contracting, national and regional negotiations, etc.
  • Develops and executes global evidence plan to identify needs and generate evidence, including real-world evidence studies, working closely with medical affairs and HEOR.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of health policies, critical steps to access, payer landscape, financial flows, etc., for priority markets.
  • Monitors and communicates market access changes, challenges, and opportunities in priority markets.
  • Lead the development of our local market access message platforms, with US market access, medical affairs, and HEOR support.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and evaluation of various strategic access options and facilitate discussion among the relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead relationships and engagements that are compliant with HTA agencies and other related organizations.
  • Communicate access updates, recommendations, and analysis regularly to the broader Iovance organization, including senior leadership.
  • Develop access & value marketing materials for priority markets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-industry partners and advocacy organizations to address access challenges for cell therapies and patients in a disease area.
  • Conduct access-related market research through interviews, panels, or surveys.
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

Travel – Up to 25%

 

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 + years of related experience 
  • Experience in a biopharmaceutical industry, with extensive experience in oncology/cell therapy, rare disease, market access, pricing, health policy, health economics, marketing, or global markets
  • Track record of successfully managing high-performing teams and delivering excellence
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic analysis and facilitating strategic decisions with senior management. 
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to explain scientific, medical, and real-world data concepts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and PowerPoint presentation skills, including extensive experience in executive-level presentations.
  • Extensive experience in project managing cross-functional teams. 
  • Deep understanding of international healthcare systems, including health policy considerations, HTA, and reimbursement methods in global markets
  • Knowledgeable about health economic modelling 

 

Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • PharmD, PhD, MS, or MBA preferred.
  • Cell therapy experience preferred.
