Core Duties
Responsible for managing all aspects of payroll including monthly payroll, compensation components, statutory compliance, incentive calculations, and data integrity for over 350 employees working remotely throughout Philippines (concentrated in Metro Manilla and Cebu).
Ability to manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for an in-house or semi-managed payroll environment.
Maintain awareness of payroll regulations and compliance in the Philippines; Serve as a subject matter expert, providing senior management with timely advice, direction and recommendations regarding compensation structures, benefits, and policy interpretations.
Function and communication as the onsite final point of contact for all matters pertaining to PH payroll for global stakeholders and senior leadership.
Guarantee the accuracy, compliance, and audit integrity of payroll planning and execution,
Ensure that internal audit corrections are implemented in accordance with sustainable best practices and manage audits and risk assessments as necessary.
Conduct audits and risk assessments as necessary and implement internal audit corrections in accordance with sustainable best practices.
Collaborate with a small remote team that spans multiple geographies.
Develop and maintain payroll Standard Operating Procedures and TAT’s, revising them as necessary to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Produce a variety of reports and outputs to ensure financial and regulatory compliance.
Ensure that internal audit corrections are implemented in accordance with sustainable best practices and manage audits and risk assessments as necessary.
Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBP’s), legal, finance, and functional executives to address cross-departmental challenges and ensure transparent processing and data integration.
Participate in the renewal of all group insurance policies and support the employee insurance lifecycle.
Encourage the modernization and transformation of the payroll function by incorporating technology to automate processes and improve reporting.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong current understanding of payroll best practices and relevant provincial and local laws.
Extensive hands-on payroll experience with a specialization in In-house payroll processing with familiarity with taxation, SSS, and benefits administration laws.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with a capacity for quickly learning new or updated tools.
Self-starter with the ability to operate independently under minimal guidance.
Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules to engage with US team members.
Proven willingness and ability to learn payroll systems and best practices in various international contexts.
Significant experience with HRMS and extensive backend payroll operations.
Able to meet deadlines consistently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with a capacity for quickly learning new or updated tools.
Experience managing captive payroll operations is a plus.
Education And Experience
MBA/PGDM/master’s or equivalent postgraduate degree in HR/finance/accounting or Business.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Global payroll (with at least 7+ years focused on core Philippines payroll functions.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading results delivery for a functional or sub-functional group, with a specific focus on independent decision-making responsibilities
Experience in a matrixed multinational environment is an advantage.
Knowledge of accounting principles.
Implementation experience with payroll systems and payroll transitions (in-house to manage or vice versa) is a plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in implementing and maintain optimal data management procedures.
Ability to create or contribute towards the creation of policies and procedures that meet the rigorous standards of external audits and Internal Financial Controls (IFC).
Experience supporting stakeholders, including leadership in India and North America, analysis and insights.
