Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Business Communications the Senior Specialist, Business Communication role is responsible for associate communications and enablement content related to AmerisourceBergen’s U.S.-based human health distribution network and related business segments. This individual will work collaboratively with all areas of the business, communications, human resources, executive leadership, operations and other teams to develop and execute internal communications strategies that drive business performance, enables associate performance and supports the company and business unit strategy and annual financial plans.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with Senior Manager, Functional Communications (IT) to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the IT organization and enterprise objectives

    • Support the Senior Manager, Functional Communications (IT) in defining and amplifying key messages, channels, and tactics to effectively communicate technology and data updates, initiatives, and projects to various internal audiences

    • Create engaging and informative communication materials such as emails, newsletters, presentations, intranet content, and project updates

    • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels and materials

    • Develop stories and content that highlight the value and impact of technology and data projects and initiatives

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Technology Communications global Community of Excellence, including scheduling, crafting meeting summaries, and following up on action items

    • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Functional Communications (IT) to support the creation of communication resources

    • Clarify persona guidelines for other Technology communications teams

    • Support change management efforts by developing and delivering communication plans that effectively communicate technology and data changes, transformations, or evolutions relevant to team members

    • Provide guidance on crafting messages that communicate support resources available during periods of change.

    • Collaborate with Technology project teams to develop communication plans for major initiatives, ensuring stakeholders are informed of project progress, milestones, and impact

    • Craft compelling communication materials to announce project launches, updates, and achievement

    • Communicate technology and data communications policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure understanding and compliance among IT team members

    • Collaborate with subject matter expert (SME) teams to support the dissemination of technology and data communications policies and procedures

    • Engage with key stakeholders, including Technology leadership, project teams, end-users, and cross-functional departments, to gather insights and ensure alignment on communication strategies

    • Solicit feedback, address concerns, and maintain open lines of communication to foster collaboration and transparenc

    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Technology communications initiatives through metrics such as engagement rates, feedback surveys, and communication analytics

    • Utilize data and feedback to refine communication strategies and optimize engagement with target audiences

    • Assist in the planning and execution of Technology organization meetings, including agenda building, invitations, slide preparation, and speaker support

    • Develop and distribute organizational announcements and messages

    • Plan and support special events hosted by the Technology leadership team, including developing talking points, managing invitations, and running the even

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary education in English, Journalism, Communications or related field

    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience writing in a corporate setting, preferably within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology / healthcare industry

    • 3+ years of experience producing research-based content, preferably case studies within the pharmaceutical /biotechnology/ healthcare industry

    • Experience working collaboratively with Graphic Designers; experience working with clinical experts and/or data analysts to develop content is a plus

    • Experience with collaboration tools such as SharePoint or WorkZone

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint

    • Outstanding writing skills with a proven track record in research-based writing

    • Comfortable learning new technology

    • Knowledge of leading style guide standards and rules

    • Analytical/critical-thinking skills for understanding complex solutions while defining them in succinct, persuasive written responses

    • Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and complex environment, proactively seeking guidance on complex tasks, as needed

    • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and to practice strong organizational skills when faced with multiple, time-sensitive priorities

    • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with experience working as part of a team to complete complex and time-sensitive projects

    • Must be able to work according to deadlines

    • Strong knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook

    • Solid teamwork – operates from a “team first” mentality
