Job description

The future, as we see it, has millions of devices connected to the internet — everything from citywide bike sharing systems to smarter heart monitors to internet-connected eggs to catch turtle poachers. Hologram is here to connect anything to the internet — via our global cellular platform and network available in over 200 countries and territories. The future is connected, and we are connecting it.
About This Role
As a Sales Engineer, you will partner with Account Executives as the technical lead throughout the sales process. Leveraging your expertise in cellular connectivity, embedded systems design, TCP/IP networks, and IoT, you will proactively push deals forward and develop solutions around Hologram’s products. This role reports to the VP of Sales.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the technical pre-sales relationship by providing guidance on technical architecture, demonstrating the product (ex. Dashboard), mitigating technical concerns or obstacles, and building customer trust in Hologram
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Hologram's full product suite who can expertly communicate Hologram's technical value proposition, including Dashboard and/or API integration
  • Provide prospects with end-to-end IoT expertise including hardware selection, embedded systems/product architecture and design, and device certifications
  • Assist with and drive resolution for technical support issues that arise during pre-sales, testing, and pilot phase
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in IoT technologies and relevant industry trends
Requirements:
  • Experience building and deploying embedded systems or IoT devices
  • Proven expertise in cellular connectivity, cellular certifications, AT commands, radio modules, and modems
  • Experience in IoT professional services or consulting advising clients on IoT product development and design
  • Experience with TCP/IP based protocols and networking principals
  • Experience selling complex technical, developer-facing products (ex. networking products, embedded systems hardware products, data products, and APIs)
  • Experience with enterprise technical sales cycles that require coordinating with multiple stakeholders to deliver accurate, up-to-date project plans (MAPs) and clear launch guidance.

Traits & Skills

  • You have excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • You have a proven history of quickly mastering new technologies and technical concepts
  • You take broad goals and turn them into specific plans, work through obstacles, and make good decisions along the way
  • You move fast to care for customer needs and solve bigger problems
  • You love to help customers in need and will go the extra mile to ensure Hologram delivers phenomenal experiences at every touch point

Compensation: $128,500 - $145,000 base salary, annual target bonus of $30,000 - $36,000, and a new hire equity option grant.
