Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket is looking for a Binding Authority Underwriter to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for building agent and broker relationships and managing a current book of business. This position will be responsible for maintaining profitability and build and manage relationships with the customers.

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $100,000/year based on experience.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Builds agent and broker relationships.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and underwrites risks submitted by Producers, rates submissions for premium and terms, analyzes exposures for quotes for new and renewal business, issues written indications, quotes and binders; uses inspection companies to obtain further information, quotes rates, or explains company underwriting policies.

  • Underwrites or brokers risks ensuring that all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are made, and taxes paid in accordance with appropriate state laws.

  • Secures payments on risks bound or written.

  • Examines such documents as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and any other relevant reports to determine degree of risk.

  • Markets and meets with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships in an effort to grow a book of business.

  • Ensures all required forms are completed and utilized.

  • Services and perpetuates existing business, produces new business, and has a keen awareness of priorities.

  • Assists in the training and development of new or less experienced Underwriter Techinical Assistants and Renewal Underwriters to reduce the Underwriter’s clerical workload.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and four years related experience in the insurance industry and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to effectively present information.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Have high levels of accuracy and detail along with a specific focus on timeliness, productivity, and quality.

  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Property and Casualty Insurance License (is required within 90 days of hire).

Pay Range

$65,000 - $100,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
