Job Summary
The ERP Analyst II understands the current business processes and identifies gaps between existing and global processes. Will help to streamline and standardize global processes. Will help and coordinate with data conversions. The ERP Analyst II will work with third parties on interfaces and to identify and document requirements for their respective business areas. The ERP Analyst II will provide expertise in the systems that are used to support their designated business group.
Essential Function
- Create and validate test cases for standard processes within our standard business tools, suggest and drive solutions to gaps.
- Work with business users to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve production support tickets
- Investigate and determine required solution for production issues from low to highly critical issues
- Provide support in activities which are an essential part of the business processes
- Work with Vendor Support to resolve ERP issues with system seeded functionalities. Work with the development staff to resolve production support tickets related to customized functionality
- System setup and configuration for upgrades/ implementation of new functionality/organizations
- Conduct business analyst tasks which include gathering of requirements and information from core application users and business sponsors
- Understand business goals and objectives
- Gather system and development requirements
- Research existing functionalities and feasible custom solutions
- Prepare necessary and required documentation
- Communicate and translate functional specifications and business requirements for development and technical groups used
- Assist in ad-hoc report requirements by creating and customizing reports, , and developing scripts to extract ad hoc reports
- Assist with data corruption, minor system errors, and bulk updates by creating, composing, and testing data fixes and scripts
- Develop business process improvements using the current/ available ERP applications/functions
- Assist with UAT (User Acceptance Testing) document preparation, testing activities, production implementation and post-production support and activities
- Impart training and create documentation as needed
- Document business process which coincides with the use of the ERP system
- Provide proper training to all kinds of ERP users: core, external/ internal, end-users, self-service users
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e. Business or Information Systems); or four years related experience in lieu of degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Must have 5+ years of technical and functional experience in SAP MM/WM modules
- 1-2 years of experience in SAP SD or SAP PM will be preferred.
- English proficiency required
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in multiple full lifecycle SAP ERP implementation projects.
- Excellent level knowledge of SAP ERP modules related to area of responsibility (MM, WM)
- Experience in SAP ERP production support.
- Ability to read ABAP and evaluate code issues by stepping through it in debug.
- Good understanding of other SAP ERP modules (SD, PM) and integration to modules in area of responsibility
- Solid experience in design and development of SAP ERP enhancements and custom functionality
- Solid experience in writing Functional Specifications and Standard Configuration of SAP modules.
- Good experience with reporting tools such as SQVI, HANA BW and Tableau
- Experience of working with global businesses and with geographically dispersed teams
- Experience of working with offshore development and support teams
- Share knowledge and insights to team members though mentoring where needed.
- Good knowledge of IT development and implementation methodologies including Agile, SDLC
- Understanding of interfacing/integration technologies including web services, EDI etc. is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects at the same time.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand business processes from the end user perspective.
- Ability to work well in a matrixed team environment and interact with others effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and aptitude for experiential learning
- Performance driven with a proven ability to exceed goals in a high-pressure environment.
