Job Description

We are seeking a North America Tax Manager to join our tax team. The North America Tax Manager will play a vital role in the team's expansion. You will act as main point of contact for tax matters for the North American entities of the group, and responsibilities will cover various areas of tax.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tax Compliance:

  • Data preparation and collaboration with external service providers to prepare and file of annual corporate tax returns for the North American entities of the group, including internal collaboration and preparation of good data quality of financial information necessary for tax reporting purposes, and properly communicate the group's tax positions to be reflected in the tax filing. 
  • Coordinate quarterly tax payments, including monitoring relevant book balances or over/under payment in relevant territories. 
  • Preparation and filing of indirect tax returns for North American entities of the group, and monitoring book balances in relation to these filings. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Group in-house tax team and external service providers to facilitate relevant filing, obtain answers to ad-hoc questions the Group is facing, and collaborate on various projects. 
  • Efficiently optimize balance between internal and external resources. Handle communication with local tax authorities and letters received from various federal and state authorities.

Tax Accounting:

  • Periodic financial reporting - preparation of calculation of current and deferred tax provisions for year-end closing and other internal financial reporting periods. 
  • Liaising with teams across Finance to prepare and review intercompany transaction calculation, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness. 
  • Collaborate with multiples teams in the organization (Operations, Legal, as well as other teams within Finance) and other stakeholders to build a strong network across these departments.

Tax planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning to optimize the the Group's tax position in North American territories. 
  • Monitor changes to the tax landscape, and support the Head of Tax with the ongoing analysis of relevant legislation development that might impact the Group's tax positions.
  • Provide support as needed on ad-hoc projects. 

YOUR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or tax.
  • Experience across a wide range of taxes, preferably with exposure to international tax, or working in a multinational environment. 
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to a dynamic and busy environment, and work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Experience working with tax regulators
  • Experience handling tax disputes and communicate directly with tax administrators is advantageous. 
  • Experience from an international accounting firm or multinational organisation.
  • Data analytics skills, self-learning, and detail-oriented.
  • Organised, efficient, and with high motivation.
