The Service Engineering group supports supervisors engaged in Billable Repair Operations, as well as indirect support of the 2,400 NAA Service Technicians, with the objective of continually improving quality, efficiency, and productivity while ensuring world-class safety. 

Otis is seeking a Service Quality Engineer to support our Billable Repair business. 

Responsibilities

  • Working with the local branch offices to identify and resolve issues that drive productivity and quality within billable repair by developing and delivering training material (online and in-person)
  • Analyzing performance metrics to drive improved efficiency, and employing tools to enhance the Billable Repair SIP process.  
  • Specific areas of focus will include a strong emphasis on safe working practices, implementing existing tools and systems, updated technical training, driving PTE performance, decreasing the backlog time through process enhancements, and identifying best practices to continuously improve products, tools and systems. 
  • In addition, the Billable Repair SQE will work alongside the other SQE team on numerous other NAA projects, priorities and objectives. 
  • The successful candidate should be ready to work on a wide scope of projects.


A successful candidate for this position will be energetic, team-oriented, and willing and able to take innovative approaches to meet our objectives.  This position is remote and requires 10-30% travel.

Education / Certifications

BA or BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience / Qualifications

The selected candidate should have the following:

  • Strong champion of Otis Absolutes of Safety, Ethics and Quality
  • Elevator mechanic supervisory experience.  Otis field supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • A working knowledge of Otis IT systems, apps, and field business processes.
  • Ability to provide training to individuals as well as groups of up to 30 people.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets, QlikSense, and SalesForce
