About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Research Team. 

Our team helps testing new technologies, ideas and strategies to help improve Coalitions Products. We also conduct in-depth research on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack trends to enhance Coalition's cyber risk management capabilities. Our work helps develop strategies for preventing and responding to cyber incidents, improving Coalition's insurance offerings, and providing actionable threat intelligence to customers.

The team also contributes to security awareness by publishing research findings and collaborating with the broader cybersecurity community to strengthen overall cyber resilience.

In this role you will work also with our Security Customer Support, Claims, Incident Response and Security Analysts teams. 

Responsibilities
  • Develop detection mechanisms and automated analysis tools to identify cyber risks;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance security intelligence and incident response;
  • Develop best practices and technical guidance for customers to reduce cyber risks;
  • Engage with the broader security community to stay informed about evolving threats.
  • Develop POCs to detect specific technologies / vulnerabilities.
Skills and Qualifications 
  • 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, preferably in threat research, incident response, or vulnerability analysis;
  • Experience cybersecurity frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, etc.);
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Python;
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical research to both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Familiarity with network security, cloud security,
  • Understanding of attack techniques and exploit development.
  • Knowledge of tools like Nmap, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Wireshark or other offensive tools;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)
Bonus Points
  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing;
  • Experience with GenAI tools;
  • Familiarity with cyber insurance and risk-based security models.
  • Securing cloud based platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, etc.) - experience with system hardening procedures for Windows, Linux and Unix is helpful
