Job description

Product Development Consultants help our organization improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability by identifying and implementing effective solutions by focusing on what needs to be done to meet business objectives. This role will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness along with driving strategic objectives. The Product Development Consultant will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, develop project plans, and ensure successful implementation of initiatives.

Essential Functions: In addition to working as prescribed in our Performance Factors specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and systems and documenting business requirements.
  • Identify and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and present findings.
  • Perform gap analysis and propose solutions to bridge identified gaps and areas for improvement
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new business processes and systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users.
  • Ensuring that the final product meets the business requirements.
  • Coordinates with Scrum Master on backlog grooming and prioritization with assistance from Product Manager as needed.
  • In depth industry, company, and product knowledge.
  • Strong experience in user testing and project management.
  • Drives client and end-user meetings to results.
  • Actively engages client involvement as external stakeholders through development to general availability.
  • Strategic agility - a strong understanding of why projects are being done.
  • Ability to ask tough questions and push back professionally and creatively to ensure success.
  • Leads feature acceptance testing in conjunction with the Scrum Master.
  • Transitions feature knowledge (internally and externally).
  • Ability to take a concept from Product Management or Product Owner through to production. 
  • Influence may span multiple teams and often product lines.
  • Active participation in industry meetings - and knowledgeable about them.
  • Often takes full ownership of a feature or module (e.g. acceptance and knowledge transfer as well as ongoing support (feature/maintenance tradeoffs) of feature).
  • Identify, track, and bring opportunities for workflow improvements to Product Management.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for various initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams to elicit feedback and drive consensus on project objectives.
  • Analyze data and metrics to measure effectiveness of implemented solutions and provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing findings, recommendations, and project status.
  • Proficient in business analysis tools and methodologies, such as SWOT analysis, process mapping, and requirement gathering techniques.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4-7+ plus years of experience as a Business Analyst, with proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and systems.
  • Identify and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and present findings.
  • Perform gap analysis and propose solutions to bridge identified gaps.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new business processes and systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
  • 8 - 11+ years of business analysis experience
  • Experience working with business processes and re-engineering.
  • Knowledge of healthcare-based applications.
  • Experience with enterprise software vendors (such as: McKesson, Cerner, SAP, Oracle) preferred.
  • Experience working with computer programming concepts.
  • Experience working with interfacing/middleware technology.
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving collaborative environment.
