  • This is a remote position servicing our Care Centers in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will live in the Hampton Roads area. ***

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to play a critical role in supporting care centers and employees across our Virginia market. The primary responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist include but are not limited to Employee and Labor Relations, Organizational Policy and Procedures, Regulatory Compliance Management and Reporting (Workers Compensation, Unemployment claims), and employee education.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for employees and management regarding employee relations matters.
  • Guides management and employees with disciplinary actions, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, ADA interactive process, and conflict management issues.
  • Provides guidance, expert interpretation of policy, and training to the organization to mitigate potential risk.
  • Review and update HR policies to align with changes in employment laws and company needs.
  • Conducts thorough investigations into allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and/or policy violations.
  • Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
  • Develops, conducts, and/or takes part in specialized presentations and training, covering operational and/or technical HR-related information for specified areas of expertise.
  • Facilitates the preparation of replies and collecting information for EEOC claims, unemployment, employment verifications, or any employment law-related court cases, charges, or complaints.
  • Helps coordinate and/or supports market leadership in the preparation of employee engagement activities, parties, events, and other work-related functions.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential records, documentation, and tracking data for employee relations activities and trend analysis.
  • Monitor and process Salesforce cases related to the employee relations department.
  • Responsible for the HR onboarding process of new care centers.
  • Collaborate and assist with other HR functions, such as recruitment, benefits, and payroll to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Play a key role in improving HR workflows and processes within the market in collaboration with other departments.
  • Collaborate with the market leader to ensure HR initiatives support the goals of the market.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least five years of experience in HR, three years in a general capacity
  • A minimum of three years’ experience with employee relations including investigation techniques and conflict resolution
  • Previous experience in conducting investigations and resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment and labor law. A plus if experienced in Virginia and North Carolina employment law
  • Prior experience in compensation analysis a plus.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Certification a plus
