Job Description
As a CNS vLab Engineer at Nokia, you will take on a pivotal role in advancing our cloud innovation. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you'll prepare and manage OpenStack and OpenShift/Kubernetes test environments, support the growth of containerized infrastructures, and troubleshoot cloud and Kubernetes cluster issues. You will also oversee routine and emergency vLab maintenance, planning and executing upgrades to our cloud infrastructure. This unique position allows you to contribute directly to delivering highly automated, programmable networks that shape the future of connectivity, aligning with Nokia's mission of transforming the digital landscape.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Configuring and administering cloud systems and network infrastructures tailored to the CNS software development community.
- Monitoring and ensuring the reliability and performance of network systems and laboratory resources.
- Supporting the growth and integration of cloud and Kubernetes/OpenShift infrastructures to enhance DevOps capabilities.
- Collaborating with R&D teams to streamline testing processes for virtualized applications, fostering innovation across product lines.
- Implementing robust security controls within laboratory environments to safeguard project integrity and compliance.
- Driving standardization and operational efficiencies across various business units through effective resource management.
- Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to evolve the cloud-based infrastructure in response to emerging challenges.
- Be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, making a tangible impact in the development of strategic software products.
Key Skills And Experience
You have:
- Experience with cloud computing services [IaaS, PaaS, SaaS]
- Experience with installation, management and upgrade of Openshift/k8s clusters
- Good knowledge of GITOps and container technologies
- Linux administration and configuration
- Scripting experience – Python, Ansible
It would be nice if you also had:
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ambition to identify and implement improvements in procedures and documentation.
- Ability to work with a global team.
- Language skills: English
