Job description

At Trilligent Brussels, we specialise in tech policy advocacy, legislative analysis, stakeholder engagement, and policy communications. Our primary areas of expertise include AI, IP, standards, data, cybersecurity, sustainability, online safety, semiconductors, supply chain and global trade issues, as well as geopolitical risk advisory.


Internship Summary

The intern will join for a period of 6 months and will be involved in both Public Affairs and communications work and support the consultants on assigned projects one or more of Trilligent diverse client practices while also conducting broad research and intelligence assignments for the general purpose of the Brussels office. Specific responsibilities may include policy research and analysis, monitoring and reporting, event organization, stakeholder mapping and meeting coordination, media and social media content development and other ad-hoc tasks.


This is a full-time position based in Brussels, Belgium. Applicants must have a valid work-permit / visa for Belgium.


The Intern Is Expected To Demonstrate

  • A good understanding of the EU policymaking process and knowledge of key EU tech policy topics is required.
  • Knowledge of policies related to AI, cybersecurity, data, IP, standards, online safety, sustainability, semiconductors and global trade issues is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated interest in EU tech policy issues, and the tech sector in general.
  • Be fluent in English and have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a can-do attitude and demonstrated curiosity to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • The intern reports to assigned project staff member and/or the team coordinators.


Internship Objectives

  • Expand and apply the current knowledge of European and global institutions in a real-time work environment, and develop expertise in EU tech policy issues.
  • Familiarize with the logistics and functions of consultancy, specifically regarding public affairs.
  • Experience first-hand how the policies of the EU and other institutions affect various stakeholders worldwide.
  • Develop relations with colleagues and other stakeholders of the Public Affairs sector and participate to meetings (internal and external), conferences and debates to develop his/her professional network.


Day-to-day Tasks And Responsibilities

The following are specific duties performed daily:

  • Participate in ongoing projects for international clients and provide assistance to consultants with tasks including but not limited to: (1) Monitor media, institutional calendar, regulation, and legislation updates, (2) Provide support to client work and new business opportunities, (3) Draft client materials, policy analyses and reports, as well as media and social media content (4) Conduct research and produce mailings.
  • Conduct industry and/or client research
  • Conduct audits and mappings
  • Provide support to media relations activities (e.g., producing media lists etc.);
  • Support event organization (e.g., invitation, logistics etc.);
  • General admin support tasks (e.g., update databases, translations)
