Job description

PlanIT Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (DOTCOM ) to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will work as part of a small cross-functional team, this individual will participate in development and support the team's effort to maintain a secure web presence. Individual will be responsible for managing web security applications to monitor and mitigate attacks on web facing applications.

Duration: One year plus annual extensions

Cybersecurity Engineer (DOTCOM) - this is a remote role.

Job Description:
Working as part of a small cross-functional team, this individual will participate in development and support the team's effort to maintain a secure web presence. Individual will be responsible for managing web security applications to monitor and mitigate attacks on web facing applications.

Operational

Ensure internal and external data security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.

Implement observability across platforms for application monitoring and alerting.

Deploy threat detection and mitigation techniques to ensure data/application security.

Work with auditors to ensure security compliance.

Essential Qualifications

Functional comprehension of web application architecture.

Understanding of PCI Security requirements.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred skill/knowledge: Human Code Defender

Experience Level

10+ years of related experience in cybersecurity and NIST standards along with 5+ years of technical writing .

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, Social Science, Education, Human Resources Development, and Psychology or other related disciplines and twelve to fifteen years of experience or Master's degree and ten to twelve years of related experience or PhD and eight to nine years of related experience.

Certifications: (One or more required )

  • CompTIA Security +
  • CPTE - Certified Penetration Testing Engineer or CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
  • CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor

CISSP

CISSP-ISSEP

CISSP-ISSAP

CISSP-ISSMP preferred

Additional Provisions

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
  • All candidates must be a US Citizen
  • Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
