About This Opportunity

Avel eCare is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Clinical Informatics to join our team. This leadership role is integral to the design, implementation, adoption, and integration of clinical informatics systems that aim to enhance patient care and improve operational outcomes. The Director will drive strategic initiatives to improve clinical systems, collaborate with internal departments, and stay at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies in clinical informatics.

Summary

The Avel eCare Director of Clinical Informatics is responsible for designing and implementing the organization’s clinical informatics systems and data to improve patient care and operational results. The Director establishes initiatives to improve systems and/or integrate new systems. The director communicates with management and other departments to ensure departmental initiatives and strategies align with broader organizational goals. The Clinical Informatics Director researches and stays up to date on new clinical informatics trends and technology.

Essential Functions

  • Directs and coordinates services and works within Avel for implementation of new sites, software, or processes.
  • Develops positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Directs team that works with service lines and customers to implement and refine processes on an on-going basis to improve patient care and safety.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate to Avel leadership, staff, and customers to achieve desired goals and objectives.
  • Directs and manages the resources of the service line in a way that provides effective outcomes.
  • Fosters effective communication and collaboration between Avel leadership, clinical, IT, and administrative teams.
  • Maintains current knowledge base of applicable clinical concepts. Demonstrates initiative in applying knowledge relative to planning, operationalizing, and evaluating software, processes, and services.
  • Manages Informatics team, establishing annual goals/objectives and monitoring/addressing performance, to achieve desired goals of department and Avel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret data to direct the department’s activities and improve patient care.

Supervisory Responsibilities

REQUIRED EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required, master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in Clinical Informatics management required.
  • Previous management experience preferred

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse with one unrestricted state license is required.
  • RN Licensure required, within the states that eCare service line is providing service, within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification in specialty highly preferred.
  • Membership in professional organization preferred.
  • Completion of state specific certification/education within the initial and renewal time periods is required.

Required Physical Abilities

Required Communication/Mathematical/Reasoning Skills

  • Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer within the Windows operating system.
  • This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.
