Job description

As the captive finance company of the Audi, Ducati and Volkswagen brands in Canada, Volkswagen Financial Services offers a wide range of leasing, retail financing and protection plans expertly tailored to meet the needs of our customers. Additionally, we provide commercial financing products to Audi, Ducati, and Volkswagen Dealers.

Role Summary

The Business Development Manager is the primary contact between Volkswagen Financial Services and its Dealer clients. This field-based position is a consultative / Sale role responsible for developing the retail, lease, protection products (insurance), loyalty, commercial finance and remarketing relationships with Ducati, Audi and Volkswagen Dealers in the assigned area. The role collaborates with Protection Plan partner, Audi Canada and Volkswagen Canada Managers to achieve Dealer performance objectives and targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propose sales initiatives to Dealers based on the identification of performance opportunities and revenue gaps that will optimize their business performance using a Business Fit approach.
  • Capture New and Used retail contracts in building dealership relationships, demonstrating Volkswagen Financial Services added value proposition & selling Volkswagen Financial Services products suite.
  • Maintain and solicit new commercial finance business and initiate the development of credit package requests and the coordination of documentation necessary for the adjustment in floorplan lines, as needed, to support current sales activity.
  • Inform Dealers on operational requirements of current in-market retail programs to ensure Dealers maximize their sales performance using all available retail programs currently available.
  • Support Dealer training requirements for Retail, Lease, Protection Products, Portfolio Management, and best business processes.
  • Respond to and support Dealers with all Volkswagen Financial Services program inquires to achieve Dealer satisfaction objectives and support Customer fulfillment.
  • Inform Dealers and maintain timely communication records of key Dealership contacts via Salesforce to maintain.
  • central communication database available for all Audi Finance and Volkswagen Finance stakeholders

Required Qualifications

Formal education

  • University degree required (Preferred field: Business Administration)

Experience

  • 1-3 years of related automotive/financial services experience

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years sales district management exp., direct automotive sector exp.

Competencies

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Sales & Relationship management
  • Proven consultative selling
  • Proven ability to influence change within a Dealership environment
  • Sound working knowledge of retail and commercial credit
  • Bilingualism (English/French) – read, written, and spoken. Required to effectively serve a diverse, Canada-wide client base.

  • Prior automotive captive finance experience
  • Prior sales experience
  • Prior retail Dealer experience

Work schedule

  • 70% travel depending on workload and requests.
  • Frequent travel in cold/hot environments depending on area.
  • Can be exposed to different environments (e.g. service area vs sales area) in Dealerships; can be noisy/odorous depending on area of Dealership.
  • May have many conflicting priorities.
  • Flexible working schedule in supporting extra hours business activities and dealer supports.

Work location

  • This role requires traveling to various dealerships and areas. This role will be traveling within the Quebec Western Region
