An exciting opportunity to join one of the UKs largest independent Insurance Brokers as a Global Benefits Management - Principal Consultant. We are looking for someone who can successfully project, manage a portfolio of global clients and help support the delivery of new business and retention targets.

What you will do as a Global Benefits Management - Principal Consultant:

The Global Benefits Management - Principal Consultant reports to Head of International and is responsible for managing, retaining and developing a portfolio of global clients, typically managed through face-to-face sales and account management. They will also be involved in the growth and development of other individuals within the team and supporting the manager.

Purpose Of The Role

  • Successfully manage a portfolio of existing clients, achieving high retention rates by delivering excellent service and strong advice.
  • Develop the existing client portfolio by upselling additional service lines to existing Towergate Employee Benefits clients and cross selling to Advisory Insurance Brokers.
  • Nurture and convert new business leads from various sources.
  • Support the development of team members and support the manager in various tasks
  • Work professionally and collaboratively building relationships with consulting, client services and central services.

Business Awareness

Key Role Accountabilities

  • Displays a detailed awareness of wider global employee benefits and their application within a benefits programme
  • Ability to articulate the difference between business risk and people risk, and signpost solutions as necessary
  • Proactively manages a client portfolio against targets for all activities.
  • Ensure that revenue generated is appropriate against time spent
  • Takes ownership for any issues that might occur

Delivering To Clients

  • Takes responsibility and accountability for all complex client work including global benefits design, renewal, recommendation and placement (GBM clients classed as non-advised sales)
  • Expert in presenting global employee benefits concepts to board level client contacts in a face-to-face environment
  • Ensures that all policy administration is done in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Takes ownership of proactive client contact strategy throughout the year
  • Takes a client-centric approach, developing long term relationships with clients and providers, serves as day-to-day client contact.
  • Leads on collaboration with other TEB departments, delivering solutions to both people and business risks
  • Maintains high levels of client satisfaction

Provider Management

  • Works in partnership with providers and in-country partners to create best client outcomes
  • Negotiates with providers on behalf of clients to ensure terms meet with clients' objectives
  • Guides colleagues on pricing methodology based on industry knowledge

Business Development

  • Proactively explores opportunities to expand income from existing clients
  • Wins new business through various referral channels
  • Ability to respond to complex tender proposals
  • Creates and executes growth of a new business pipeline
  • Generates referrals to other TEB business lines from portfolio and prospects
  • Generates referrals to other Advisory business lines from portfolio and prospects
  • Actively uses CRM system to manage pipeline
  • Leads/is involved with other colleague prospective clients, where further support is required

Innovation/Creativity

  • Drives innovative suggestions to develop intellectual capital, improve operating efficiencies and enhance service delivery
  • Operates as a resource for problem solving challenges and complexities within the team

Business Standards

  • Ensures compliance and business standards KPI scores remain at appropriate levels
  • Transparent and timely reporting of renewal income and new business figures
  • Effective and efficient use of company systems
  • Maintains strong technical knowledge through appropriate CPD and work-related training
  • Operates as a peer reviewer for other work within the team
  • At all times, abides by the principle and letter of FCA Principle 12 in delivering the Group’s commitment to Consumer Duty

People Development

  • Acts as a role model and coaches others (both formally and informally)
  • Demonstrates experience by supporting colleagues in complex scenarios, displaying a high level of technical competency
  • Supports management in the training and development of colleagues
  • Reinforces business messaging and acts as a positive influence on others around them

What we are looking for in a Global Benefits Programme Coordinator:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience within Financial Services / General Insurance market is essential
  • Broad understanding of the employee benefits market, global knowledge is preferred
  • Experience in relationship building with Insurers/Providers, Client management and service delivery.
  • Project management skills is essential
  • Experience of working in a changing market
  • Minimum of Cert CII or willingness to study towards qualification

  • A proven ability to manage a portfolio of complex clients and all aspects of their policy management
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Advanced presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident, personable communication skills
  • Professional, customer focussed approach internally and externally when dealing with colleagues and distribution partners
  • Well organised and able to respond well under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Work well as part of a team and leads discussions and ideas amongst peers
  • Cope well with change, internally within the business and externally within the market
  • Participates in initiatives to develop propositions and collateral and enhance efficiencies
  • Efficient and Reliable, ability to lead others in manager’s absence
  • Full, clean driving licence
