THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY
This key leadership role is in a high-growth, high-profit portfolio company of big thinkers and big doers. It is a CPG/beverage/dietary supplement company with a history of strong, profitable growth as the number one product and brand in its emerging category. Through its expanding sales and distribution network, the team is positioned to scale existing and new products globally, driving exponential revenue growth. WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Chief Sales Offer, you will be responsible for building, leading, and scaling a high-performance sales organization, with a focus on aggressive revenue expansion, distributor growth, and retail execution. You will develop and implement a sales strategy that accelerates market penetration, expands across retail and direct store delivery (DSD) networks, and drives executional excellence across all sales channels.
This role requires deep expertise in national account management, distributor expansion, retail execution, trade spend optimization, and EBIT improvement. You will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and Operations to maximize profitability, sales velocity, and market presence while ensuring full sales force deployment and execution at scale.
WHO YOU ARE
- Proven Sales Executive in High-Growth CPG – 10+ years of executive-level sales leadership experience within CPG (beverages, dietary supplements, or regulated consumer goods).
- Extensive experience scaling sales from $100M to $500M+ in high-growth environments.
- Track record of winning and expanding DSD and retail partnerships at a national and regional scale.
- Expert in Retail & Distributor Sales – Strong relationships with major retailers, distributors, and key accounts, with experience in convenience, big-box, grocery, and specialty channels.
- Proven ability to secure and optimize distributor partnerships, ensuring efficient expansion and sales execution.
- Expertise in trade spend optimization, gross margin improvements, and EBITDA-focused growth strategies.
- Strategic & Execution-Focused Sales Leader – Strong analytical skills with expertise in CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot), sales forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Experience leading large, remote sales teams, driving execution through KPIs, sales processes, and structured accountability.
- Ability to execute at scale, ensuring full deployment of the sales force and achieving best-in-class execution at the store level.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a scalable sales strategy that supports rapid revenue growth and national retail expansion.
- Lead sales expansion into DSD networks, big-box retailers, convenience, grocery, fitness, and natural channels.
- Establish high-converting sales processes, optimizing pricing, promotions, and trade spend to accelerate velocity and profitability.
- Implement a data-driven EBITDA tracking system, ensuring a 10%+ improvement in sales efficiency and profit margins.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a nationally dispersed sales team, including national account managers, field reps, and distributor sales leads.
- Scale the sales organization to full national coverage, ensuring aggressive growth in door count, retail execution, and trade compliance.
- Establish high-performance KPIs, incentive structures, and accountability systems to ensure the team delivers against revenue, velocity, and profitability goals.
- Secure key distributor partnerships with McLane, Core-Mark, and 100+ DSDs, ensuring rapid retail expansion.
- Expand big-box and natural retail presence, securing placements in at least 5 big-box retailers and 5 natural grocery chains.
- Optimize trade spend, slotting fees, and promotional budgets to maximize retail penetration and drive a 15% increase in velocity per outlet (VPO).
- Lead retail execution programs, ensuring best-in-class merchandising, store-level compliance, and in-store promotional success.
- Own full P&L responsibility for the sales organization, ensuring $200M+ in revenue and EBITDA growth.
- Optimize pricing, promotions, and distribution efficiency to drive higher gross margins and profitability.
- Implement sales forecasting, demand planning, and CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce) to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Leverage trade marketing and consumer insights to maximize sales velocity and ROI-driven promotional execution.
- Develop multi-channel sales strategies, identifying high-growth opportunities across e-commerce, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and omnichannel sales.
- Expand footprint from 8,800 to 15,000 retail doors, closing 100-200 national chain accounts and securing strong regional penetration.
- Partner with Marketing and Brand teams to ensure that retail sales align with demand-generation campaigns and customer engagement strategies.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 10+ years of executive-level sales leadership experience within CPG.
- Proven experience scaling revenue from $100M to $500M+.
- Strong background in distributor sales, national retail sales, and multi-channel expansion.
- Expertise in trade spend optimization, gross margin improvements, and EBITDA-driven sales strategies.
- Experience working in regulated CPG categories, such as dietary supplements, functional beverages, or natural products.
- Financial acumen, with experience managing P&L, trade spend, slotting fees, and promotional efficiency.
- Strong industry network in convenience, big-box, and natural retail channels.
- Hands-on leadership experience in building and scaling high-performance sales organizations.
COMPENSATION
An aggressive base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance. In this role you will contribute directly to a highly lucrative exit and will be rewarded generously as a result. Full medical benefits are provided as part of this roll.
