Job description

ClassDojo's goal is to give every child on Earth an education they love.

We started by building a powerful network for communication. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-12 teachers, children, and families globally. Teachers use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, and messages that make parents feel like they’re there. It’s actively used in over 95% of US schools, reaching over 45 million children in 180 countries, with a team of just around 200 people [1]. We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide.

We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with experience in education and large scale consumer internet companies, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Stripe, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.

What you’ll do:

As the Growth & Operations Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in scaling Dojo Tutor by leading complex, high-impact projects across Marketing and Operations. You will launch and optimize new organic growth channels, improve operational efficiency, and drive significant top-line growth—all while working cross-functionally across the marketing, operations, product, and analytics teams.

This is a strategic and hands-on role: you’ll need to define the right growth and operational strategies, execute them quickly, and iterate based on results.

Your key areas of focus will include:
  • Launching and scaling new organic growth channels. Identify and test new ways to acquire families, ensuring at least one new channel accounts for 10%+ of top-line growth within six months.
  • Optimizing and streamlining operations. Identify the biggest operational bottlenecks, design scrappy tests to address them, and work with the product team to scale the most effective solutions.
  • Leading operations and marketing work to launch new SKUs and growth motions. Figure out what needs to be in place operationally to launch new tutoring subjects or expand to new customer segments (e.g., schools/districts)—then own the execution.

You will be a match if:

  • You have 5+ years of work experience, including:
    • 2-3+ years in digital marketing at a tech company, focused on organic growth channels
    • 2+ years at a top consulting firm or in a similarly analytical, strategic role.
  • You have experience launching new growth channels from scratch, measuring their impact, and iterating on strategy and execution.
  • You’re data-driven—comfortable working with analytics tools, running experiments, and making decisions based on insights.
  • You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and are comfortable switching between strategy and execution.
  • You’re a strong cross-functional collaborator who can work effectively across marketing, operations, product, and data teams.
  • You have a scrappy, problem-solving mindset—you’re resourceful, inventive, and proactive in identifying and tackling challenges.

Bonus:

  • You have an MBA and experience in marketplaces, the gig economy, or edtech, though this is not required.
Why You’ll Love Working at ClassDojo:
  • You’ll help shape the future of education. Dojo Tutor is already making a huge impact, and you’ll help scale it to reach millions more children and families.
  • You’ll get to experiment, launch, and iterate quickly. You’ll have the autonomy to test and scale creative ideas, with a focus on fast execution and high impact.
  • You’ll work with an incredible team. We hire for talent density—our team includes top talent from companies like Instagram, Netflix, Stripe, Uber, and more.
  • You’ll do the best work of your career. We believe in hiring the best people and giving them the trust and support to do amazing things.
