We are looking for Care Guides who have deep experience in behavioral health coaching, care coordination, and safety and risk management with youth and their caregivers. In this role, you have the opportunity to work with families to teach them valuable skills that increase coping strategies and reduce tough behaviors while connecting them to appropriate behavioral health care and/or community resources when needed.
Assessment Review:
Thoroughly review assessment results gathered during the onboarding process to gain a deep understanding of the unique needs, challenges, and goals of each member seeking coaching or care coordination services.
Risk Assessment and Safety Planning:
Refer members to the most appropriate crisis resources in the case of imminent risk. Note: Brightline does not provide immediate, 24/7 crisis services.
Support members on safety/risk-related concerns as they arise either in live or asynchronous communication by conducting a comprehensive risk assessment and creating a safety plan with the family.
Provide safety support for all members in Brightline’s care (i.e. receiving services from a coach, therapist, or prescriber).
Complete mandated reports and other documentation to ensure appropriate legal processes and protocols are followed.
Re-evaluate members’ fit for Brightline services (Coaching or Therapy) after a safety event.
Care Coordination and Referrals:
Refer families to relevant community resources, including support groups, local agencies, and other social services (e.g. food, housing, financial assistance) that can significantly enhance their care experience.
Provide hands-on support to California families who may need assistance in navigating services within or outside of Brightline.
Facilitate internal referrals to Brightline Therapy services, if appropriate, ensuring families can access clinical services in a timely manner.
Coordinate external referrals to partner organizations such as schools, community health services, external therapists, primary care, EAP, and affiliate networks when necessary.
Coaching Members:
Provide evidence-based, culturally responsive behavioral health coaching to children, teens, and parents.
Tailor care plans to align with the family’s preferences, values, and cultural context.
Deliver personalized coaching through video sessions and asynchronous chat using our digital tools.
Documentation:
Ensure accurate and organized record-keeping of assessments, safety plans, referrals, and interactions with families.
Adhere to relevant privacy and compliance standards for all documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must be able to accommodate a 12-8p PST schedule.
Masters degree in a psychology related field
1 year experience in a behavioral health setting
2 years (formal or informal) experience working with children, youth or families
OR
Bachelor's degree and NBC-HWC or ICF certified
5 years relevant experience, to include direct service in a behavioral health setting
1 year (formal or informal) experience working with children, youth or families
You will thrive in your role as Care Guide if you have:
Strong coaching skills— experience with child and family focused CBT, motivational interviewing and SMART goal setting
Proficiency in SI, NSSI, HI, SUD, and ED risk assessments required
Training and experience conducting Safety Planning and Mandated Reporting is strongly preferred
A passion for learning and growth — skilled in providing and receiving feedback that leads to effective collaboration and a stronger team connection

This position is 100% remote. The target range for this position is $72,000 - $81,000. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including certifications, experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
