Job Summary:
The Revenue Manager – Extended Stay Lodging plays a critical role in maximizing revenue by developing and implementing pricing strategies, providing training, and consulting with property teams. This role focuses on revenue management principles specific to extended stay properties, including optimizing length of stay, balancing transient and long-term guest mix, and leveraging distribution channels. The Revenue Manager serves as a strategic advisor to hotel operators, helping them achieve optimal revenue performance while maintaining brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Optimization & Pricing Strategy:
- Develop and implement data-driven pricing strategies tailored to extended stay lodging, ensuring competitive positioning in the market.
- Guide hotel operators on demand forecasting, length-of-stay controls, and rate management to maximize revenue.
- Monitor property performance metrics such as revenue per available room (RevPAR), average length of stay (ALOS), and occupancy trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide strategic recommendations on balancing extended stay guests with transient demand to optimize revenue.
Consulting & Training Support:
- Act as a consultant to hotel owners, management, and staff on revenue-related topics, including pricing strategy, yield management, and distribution channels.
- Educate hotel teams on extended stay revenue management best practices, such as pricing for long-term guests, managing OTA relationships, and leveraging direct booking strategies.
- Assist hoteliers in effectively using revenue management tools and automated systems to enhance decision-making.
- Conduct virtual and in-person training sessions at state, regional, and district meetings to drive revenue performance.
Marketing & Distribution Strategy:
- Guide properties in optimizing their online presence across third-party booking platforms, brand websites, and direct booking channels.
- Assist in identifying marketing opportunities that cater to extended stay guests, including corporate partnerships, relocation services, and workforce housing solutions.
- Provide insights on digital marketing strategies, including metasearch optimization, promotional offers, and direct booking incentives.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
- Track and analyze hotel performance data, providing regular reports and recommendations to leadership and property teams.
- Identify revenue opportunities through benchmarking, market analysis, and competitive positioning.
- Support properties in implementing revenue-driving initiatives, including extended stay discounts, loyalty programs, and upselling strategies.
- Offer feedback to corporate management regarding the effectiveness of revenue programs and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ recent experience in extended stay lodging revenue management is required.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in pricing strategy, forecasting, and demand analysis.
- Familiarity with revenue management systems, property management systems (PMS), and OTA extranets.
- Excellent communication, consulting, and training skills, with the ability to influence and educate hotel operators.
- Ability to travel as needed to support assigned properties – estimated at 30% travel.
- Near major airport.
- Valid driver’s license, serviceable automobile and proof of insurance.
- The starting salary for this role is estimated to be between $67,000 and $80,000. Base pay, however, will be determined based on several factors, which include but are not limited to, applicable skills, work experience, education, business needs and market demands.
