The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Pole Star Global in a high-impact sales role focused on global government maritime markets. As a Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving revenue growth by selling our industry-leading maritime intelligence solutions to flag administrations, government agencies, and regulatory bodies worldwide.

This role is a hybrid of strategic account management and business development, requiring a deep understanding of client needs, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to identify new commercial opportunities. While you won’t be managing a team initially, there is strong potential for growth within the business.

Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development

  • Identify and engage government agencies, flag administrations, and maritime authorities to promote Pole Star’s solutions.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth across global government markets targeted to Pole Star solutions
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and pitch delivery to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Build a deep understanding of customer challenges and demonstrate how Pole Star’s solutions add value.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes that may impact sales opportunities.

Account Management & Client Relationships

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing government and flag administration clients, ensuring continued adoption and satisfaction.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients maximize the value of our solutions and identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams—including Product, Marketing, and Customer Success—to ensure seamless client onboarding and engagement.
  • Represent Pole Star at industry events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen relationships and generate new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in B2G (business-to-government) sales or enterprise sales, ideally within the maritime, regulatory, or technology sectors.
  • Strong account management skills, with the ability to nurture long-term client relationships.
  • Experience selling compliance, security, or risk management solutions is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, with a strategic mindset and a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and industry events

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree preferred but not mandatory.


Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 30%
