Job description

ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduling Coordinator / Agent to join their remote team in South Africa. In this role, you will be part of a call centre, responsible for scheduling medical appointments, managing calendars, and ensuring smooth communication between patients, healthcare providers, and home care teams. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in medical scheduling.

PLEASE NOTE:
  • Working Hours: This position requires working US-based hours (EST) from 16:00 - 01:00 SAST, Monday to Friday. (Hours may vary due to daylight savings.)
  • Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre connection with a minimum 25 Mbps upload and download speed is required, along with the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection.
  • Power Backup: Candidates must have a reliable backup power solution to manage loadshedding and power outages.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Appointment Coordination: Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring that all necessary resources and personnel are available.
  • Communication: Act as the main point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers, providing updates and addressing scheduling concerns.
  • Patient Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient appointments, medical requirements, and preferences.
  • Home Care Coordination: Work closely with home care teams to ensure timely scheduling and that patient needs are met.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve scheduling conflicts or issues efficiently, balancing the needs of both patients and healthcare providers.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input and update patient information in the scheduling system with attention to detail.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all scheduling practices comply with relevant healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
Additional Information:
  • Remote Work: This is a fully remote position. Prior experience working remotely is preferred.
  • Reliable Setup: Candidates must ensure stable internet and a power backup to remain operational during loadshedding.
  • Working Hours: US-based hours (EST) from 16:00 - 01:00 SAST, Monday to Friday.
