Job description

Job Description:

The Community Solution Education System is hiring a Grants Management Intern to join the Finance team. The Grants Management Intern will work alongside The Manager of Grants and Fund Management to support the administration of grants functions in higher education.  This internship is a fantastic opportunity to learn about grants management and gain exposure to accounting tasks.  

The Grants Management Intern will gain exposure to various projects including analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and grant maintenance activities. The Grants Management department currently manages 27 grants, which is a mix of federal, state, local government and private foundational grants and contracts. 

This is a paid summer internship (June through August) is scheduled for 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Analyze compliance process for process improvement
  • Prepare billing for grants 
  • Record grant payments 
  • Update grant budget trackers 
  • Prepare compliance memo 
  • Enter any necessary journal entries 
  • Assist with any special projects 

Position Requirements: 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Professional demeanor 
  • Accurate data entry skills 
  • Strong customer service skills  
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills 
  • Must be able to work collaboratively
