Job description

Datadog is seeking a Sr. Group Manager for the DACH region. This role reports into the Senior Director, EMEA Marketing who is based in London. 


In this dynamic role, you'll serve as a player-coach leading the regional marketing strategy and day-to-day field programs for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe). You’ll be a strategic partner to the local GTM organization, collaborating with sales teams and cross-functional marketing partners to drive pipeline, increase account engagement and build brand awareness. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in field marketing, a passion for technology, and a commitment to exceeding goals. 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of our product, market positioning, competition, and Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). 

  • Utilise your strategic mindset to build, own, and execute a regional marketing strategy that focuses on pipeline development for the sales team and awareness of Datadog in the DACH region.

  • Develop and deploy field events/programs that deliver the right leads at the right time. Utilise your knowledge of field channels and the region to evaluate the success of each program to help inform future plans and roadmaps. 

  • Recruit, lead, coach, and help develop team members, initially with 1 direct report.

  • As a strategic partner across the GTM org, this role will keep the teams informed of the full marketing strategy, their actionable resources, and analysis on what is driving buyer interest in the region.

  • You have a deep understanding of the sales cycle and know what data points are needed to craft field engagements that deliver the right leads at the right time. Strategic planning with clear KPIs, goals, forecasts, workflows, and enablement plans are your go-to tools to enable you and your team to deliver on pipeline goals. 

  • Proactively partner with cross-functional Marketing teams including Partner Marketing, Digital and Sponsored Events, forging strong alliances to deliver on your regional goals. Integrate appropriate events seamlessly into the overall field marketing strategy, aiming to maximize the ROI on our marketing spend.

  • Use your solution-oriented approach and outstanding organisational skills to meet deadlines while balancing multiple projects, business partners, and priorities.

  • Represent and advocate for the DACH region within our global organization.

 

Who You Are: 

  • Solution-oriented, highly motivated and proactive self-starter who works well as both team manager and individual contributor.

  • Stellar communication and relationship building skills that help you connect with a range of people, from entry-level employees to the C-suite. 

  • Comfortable leading through influence and orchestrating the work of matrixed teams. 

  • Experience creating integrated regional marketing plans and effectively communicating plans to sales. Experience in digital channels a plus.

  • Experience managing teams and supporting team members’ growth.

  • Apply a growth mindset towards our business, function and your development.

  • Thrive on data and engage with systems to collect, analyze and share data relative to your markets for pipeline planning.

  • Outstanding organizational skills, ability to follow through, and capable of meeting deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities.

  • 10+ years of relevant field marketing experience in B2B SaaS marketing to the enterprise, with 2-4 years management experience.

  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills in English and German.

  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce), Google Suite, project management and sales enablement workflows.

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
