This position, as a Claims Assistant, is responsible for supporting the Alacrity Subrogation Recovery Representatives via the Task Queue in SpartanRMS. Task requests and job duties include but are not limited to the itemized essential functions listed below. The Claim Assistant has read, the Claim Assistant Job Duties & Responsibilities Manual, and has acknowledged and committed to understand the contents of the manual, and has agreed to comply with the standards and procedures as defined in this manual.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Adverse Carrier Calls to confirm coverage, obtain the AC Rep handling the claim together with the claim number assigned
  • Monitor client files for payments, downloads support documents and uploads to SpartanRMS.
  • Request various support documents such as a police report, Fire Marshall report, plate check, theft reports, VIN history searches, weather reports, eCourt information, bi-laws, as instructed through the Task Queue.  
  • Contacts policyholders to request that specific evidence be retained, and follows up with an email outlining the specifics of the product or appliance, obtains make, model & serial number, purchase invoices.
  • Opens all incoming mail, separates Gross Recovery Checks and scans them to the digital check scanner (chexpressCX30) directly to the portal for the Subrogation Account at Wells Fargo.
  • Return Mail is scanned and uploaded to the electronic file, and a TLO address search is performed and documented and if a new address located, the mail is re-mailed to that party.
  • Handles special mailing for remote reps where releases need to be notarized, and mail needs to be sent certified. 
  • Calls are made to Adverse Carriers for the MoneyQueue to follow up for payments on cases settled. 
  • Responsibilities include the careful creation of new subrogation cases that are either referred by the client, or identified in an Open or Closed file review performed by the IDW Team and electronically moved to SpartanRMS if subrogation appears probable.
  • Parties of Interest are documented as are all payments made by the client
  • Monitors restitution cases for status and payment.
  • Monitors salvage disposition via Copart and documents SpartanRMS by sending Message to file owner.
  • Salvage recoveries are added to the Payment Module.
  • Translation requests are also handled by the Claim Assistants who are bilingual.

Required education and experience
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Prior office work experience is desired, but not required

  • Demonstrated experience pertaining to advanced computer skills
 

Starting salary range: 

  • $22.00 per hour

Job Specifics:

  • Remote
  • Full-Time, Monday-Thursday:7:45AM-4:30PM, Friday: 7:45AM-3:00PM
