Storage Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dell Storage Specialist to act as a pre-sales technical resource, supporting our sales team in driving business growth through Dell storage and backup solutions. This individual will play a critical role in customer engagements, ensuring technical alignment with business needs and providing expert-level knowledge of Dell’s storage portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex storage solutions into business value.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal teams, guiding the pre-sales process with deep expertise in Dell storage and backup technologies.
  • Lay the technical groundwork for the sales team by identifying customer challenges and aligning solutions to business requirements.
  • Drive sales of complete solutions focused on Dell storage and backup technologies, ensuring seamless integration with customer environments.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Dell’s storage portfolio, including:
    • PowerStore
    • PowerFlex
    • APEX
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer pain points, infrastructure requirements, and future growth plans.
  • Prepare and deliver customer/partner presentations that communicate both business value and technical benefits.
  • Develop customer/partner-facing deliverables, including technical responses, proposals, and statements of work.
  • Lead and support technical events such as proof-of-concepts (POCs), demonstrations, and hands-on workshops.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create strategic account plans and ensure alignment of solutions with customer needs.
  • Stay up to date with Dell’s evolving storage technologies and competitive landscape to provide thought leadership in the industry.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide training and enablement for internal sales teams on Dell storage solutions to enhance overall sales effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting with a focus on storage solutions.
  • Deep expertise in Dell’s storage and backup technologies, particularly PowerStore, PowerFlex, and APEX.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage architectures, SAN/NAS solutions, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud strategies.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, proposals, and statements of work.
  • Hands-on experience with proof-of-concepts, demos, and solution validation processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Industry certifications in Dell Technologies storage solutions (preferred but not required).
