Job Summary

The Government Partnership Manager is responsible for driving the business forward, managing a book of a business team delivering on both city account management for our largest cities as well as winning new business in markets. This position works with the government org as a team to focus on action plans and goals that cut through the noise inherent in the government process, focusing the team on what needs to be done.

In this role, you will be responsible for city retention in North American markets (focused on Canadian and US markets) as well as the maintenance of current accounts in both areas, responsible for ~22MM of Bird's projected revenue in North America. We will expect this team to retain slots next year allowing Bird to deploy 1,250 net slots throughout North America.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scooter slot retention in North America responsible for ~22MM projected revenue. 
  • Retain and win slots next year, allowing Bird to deploy 1,250 net slots in the US and Canada.
  • Work at a high level with our key city and university partners
  • Create high impact strategy designed to improve ridership, strengthen relationships with key partners, and maximize net revenue
  • Work with our Pursuits team on RFP proposals and submissions to both address the unique needs of each of our partners and improve our city commitments
  • Guide regulatory change to improve overall quality of service delivery and rider experience
  • Speak at public gatherings or government meetings to champion Bird and alternative transportation
  • Grow our business into new markets through outreach and sales into city governments
  • Engage in onsite demonstrations and presentations of our technology and services

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years progressive experience in Government Relations, Policy, Sales, Account Management, or relevant industry experience
  • Proven ability to build and/or strengthen relationships with city officials of key cities
  • Proven ability to train others to  build and/or strengthen relationships with city officials of key cities
  • Strategic ability to build processes that do not rely on third parties to build relationships with key city stakeholders, allowing Bird to internalize relationship-building and management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that Bird fulfills all obligations required by the cities and ensure that the company remains responsive to local concerns as they emerge
