Job description

Are you an experienced writer looking for the next step in your career or an editorial lead looking for a new challenge? We have an opportunity for a leadership role that involves providing editorial guidance and strategic direction for a dynamic and expanding account.


The role

This role for an editorial team lead sits within a growing endocrinology account that encompasses both medical affairs and publications workstreams.

You can be based at any of our UK offices or completely at home in the UK or Ireland.


Key responsibilities

  • Scientific leadership of a medical affairs and publications account with an opportunity for growth
  • Providing clients with a high level of scientific, strategic and creative expertise across a range of activities from strategic publication planning to internal and external medical education and meetings
  • Establishing and building positive long-term relationships with client teams and medical experts
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of client products and strategy, as well as the wider therapy area
  • Mentoring and training editorial team members
  • Review of content developed by other team members to ensure alignment with strategy, a cohesive narrative and scientific accuracy
  • Supporting idea generation and business development activities through relationship building and the organic growth of accounts
  • Building collaborative partnerships with wider AMICULUM teams


What you’ll need

  • Previous medical writing experience at a healthcare communications agency
  • A strong academic background in a life sciences subject
  • Excellent storytelling abilities – a creative thinker who enjoys finding new ways to communicate client data and scientific concepts
  • Confidence in meetings and presentations, both internal and external
  • A strategic mind with a desire to contribute to discussions with clients on their plans and offer fresh approaches
  • Strong team leadership and mentoring skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent editorial review skills, with the ability to provide constructive and encouraging feedback to team members on their work
