Job Description:

The State of Virginia is seeking a Senior GIS Architect with expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, GIS architecture, geospatial databases, and automation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Microsoft/Azure environments, scripting, and GIS system deployment.

  • Design GIS Architecture – Define system architecture, networking, and storage configurations for Staging and Production ArcGIS Enterprise environments. (8+ years)
  • Deploy ArcGIS Enterprise – Perform installation and configuration of ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3+ on Commonwealth servers, ensuring high availability and isolation. (5+ years)
  • Manage Network & Security – Review and implement server sizing, DNS, firewall policies, and user account management. (5+ years)
  • Disaster Recovery Strategy – Develop a disaster recovery plan for ArcGIS Enterprise instances. (5+ years)
  • Automate GIS Processes – Develop scripts using Python (ArcPy, Pandas) and PowerShell for GIS automation and maintenance. (5+ years)
  • Geospatial Database Management – Design and optimize geodatabases and spatial analysis processes. (5+ years)
  • Web Services & APIs – Work with REST/SOAP APIs for GIS integration and data exchange. (5+ years)
  • Technical Leadership – Provide mentorship and technical guidance to GIS analysts on ArcGIS Enterprise administration. (5+ years)
