System Analyst - Dynamics 365 Project Operations

About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Analyst to take a lead role in implementing and supporting Dynamics 365 Project Operations integrated with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of these systems to support business operations, focusing on project management, project billing and resource planning.

As a System Analyst, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT and operation teams, and continuous improvement leadership to gather requirements, configure, test, and support the systems. Your expertise will drive successful deployments, optimize system performance, and provide ongoing support to ensure the solutions meet business needs.

In this role, you will report directly to the VP of Operations and work closely with development and IT resources.

Your Day Might Look Like

• Lead the implementation of Dynamics 365 Project Operations integrated with Finance & Operations: Take ownership of the design, implementation, and integration of Dynamics 365 Project Operations integrated with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, ensuring alignment with business requirements and objectives.
• System Configuration and Customization: Configure and customize the Dynamics 365 platform to meet organizational requirements, including workflows, project and resource management processes, and project contract billing.
• Business Process Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze existing business processes, and identify opportunities for system improvements, automation, and integration.
• Data Integration and Management: Ensure smooth data flow and integration between Dynamics 365 Project Operations, Finance, and other enterprise systems. Troubleshoot integration issues, provide solutions, and maintain data integrity.
• System Support and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support for the Dynamics 365 applications, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and minimizing system downtime. Perform root cause analysis for system errors or failures.
• User Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end users to enhance system adoption. Document system configurations, processes, and best practices.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Coordinate and perform system testing, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring all configurations work as intended.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest features and updates for Dynamics 365 Project Operations and Finance & Operations. Recommend enhancements and new capabilities to improve operational efficiency. Work closely with the Director of Continuous Improvement to assure proposed changes align with company goals and objectives.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with IT, finance, and operations teams to ensure the alignment of the system with company-wide goals and initiatives.
  
  

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or information systems or equivalent
• Proven experience working with Dynamics 365 Project Operations including a minimum of 5 implementations.
• Strong functional and technical knowledge of Dynamics 365 Project Operations.
• Experience in integrating Project Operations with accounting applications.
• Experience with the project management and accounting module within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is a plus.
• Strong understanding of project financial and management operations, business process workflows, and resource management functions.

• Proficiency in Dynamics 365 configurations, customizations, and integrations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Good documentation skills and use of ADO for managing implementation and development activities.
• Experience with data integration tools and frameworks (e.g., Data Management Framework).
• Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
