The Role 

Reporting to the Controller, the Director of Revenue Cycle Management will successfully oversee the Accounts Receivable team which includes billers, collectors, payment posters and the Insurance and Benefits team. The Director is responsible for ensuring BetterNight’s revenue cycle is performing optimally by collecting the maximum revenue allowable. This is a fully remote role working on PST or MST. 

Requirements

 We need you to: 

  • Oversee and direct all Revenue Cycle activities for BetterNight and its affiliates  
  • Oversee the outside RCM vendors to ensure BetterNight is achieving RCM goals
  • Directly supervise the Revenue Cycle Manager, AR Supervisors and Insurance and Benefits Manager 
  • Mentor and support RC Manager, AR Supervisors and the Insurance and Benefits Manager in the daily execution of departmental duties
  • Coordinate, identify and implement process improvements across all Operational departments to ensure high collections and payor compliance 
  • Is a key participant in the Revenue Cycle Committee 
  • Responsible for communicating all appropriate company manners to direct reports in effort to keep the department aligned with the company vision and business roles 
  • Maintain expertise on all current and new technologies related to RCM and makes recommendations to the Controller on implementation 
  • Analyze the AR and ensure BetterNight is maximizing collections 
  • Ensure timely filing and denials are minimal 
  • Think strategically, continually finding solutions to improve efficiency
  • Give insight and suggestions to the Controller and Executive team based on collecting, analyzing and understanding data that drives revenue
  • Understand each position and workflow on the revenue cycle team and can effectively achieve results through subordinate supervisors 
  • Review reports such as write-offs, timely filling, no authorization and over utilization from the Revenue Cycle Manager and make recommendations to address denial trends
  • Be an expert in DME billing and collecting 
  • Partner with Contracting to ensure insurance contacts are properly established and that price codes are updated so that BetterNight is properly billing for all services
  • Work with the Controller, CFO and RCM Managers to develop and manage to a set of approved department KPIs
  • Communicate, report, and escalate RCM matters appropriately and timely to the Controller, Executive team and payors 
  • Continually review, analyze, create, and implement billing processes and procedures to improve department performance
  • Oversee special projects as assigned 

Skills we are seeking: 

  • Ability to interact effectively with all team members      and staff
  • Minimum 10 years management of revenue cycle, AR or medical      billing experience using electronic medical records (EMR) and experience      with electronic claims
  • Preferred experience partnering      with vendors and managing external relationships 
  • Must be familiar with daily functions within a large      RC team. 
  • Must have a deep understanding of insurance contracts      and payor regulations. 
  • Understands EOB’s and coordination of benefits. 
  • 5 or more years’ DME medical billing experience with      strong analytical skills preferred. 
  • Must be hard working, team oriented, creative,      cooperative, and an exceptional problem solver. 
  • Must be a fast learner and have a passion for serving our      employees and our patients. 
  • High-energy, quality-focused, detailed individual.

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in a relevant industry as a manager or director
  • Brightree experience preferred
  • Preference for applicants with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting, or healthcare management
  • Must be knowledgeable in Patient Rights and Responsibilities, including HIPPA regulations  
  • Intermediate MS Office computer skills required

The Benefits 

  • Compensation range of $100,000-$130,000/year + bonus depending upon experience
