Job description

Title: Senior Application Administrator
Location: Remote, LA
Duration: 4 Years
Hours: 15 hours/week

Job Description:


The scope of the proposed services will include the following:
  • Respond to State communication, initiated by the State during the State's core hours as stated in the Period of Performance section, within 1 hour of communication being sent for communication clearly marked as "critical” or "emergency” and within 2 hours of communication being sent for all other communication.
  • Assist with emergencies and critical deadlines on State holidays, weekends, and hours outside of the State's core business hours.
  • Provides maintenance, support, troubleshooting, and updating/upgrading of Jira
  • Oversee the administration, configuration and support of Jira, external application integrations (ex: GitHub and Bamboo), and Atlassian Marketplace 3rd party applications
  • Identify, respond, research and resolve program, data, or system software problems in consultation with other employees and/or users.
  • Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, mentorship and guidance to State personnel for requested work.
  • Assist State personnel and/or other outside resources with upgrades of the Jira environment as necessary.
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory:
  • Experience performing upgrade of multi-node data center instance (9.x version minimum)
  • Experience updating Jira application configuration files (e.g., setenv.sh, server.xml, web.xml, application-properties, dbconfiguration, etc.)
  • Experience creating and updating Bash scripts
  • Experience maintaining CRON table entries
  • Experience creating and updating Groovy scripts.
  • Experience using RHEL command line
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting issues with clustered nodes, submitting and working with Atlassian support as necessary
  • Experience with TSQL and creation/alteration of SQLServer database objects (e.g., stored procedures, views, tables, etc.)
  • Experience performing Jira project configuration including customized workflow post functions, custom listeners, custom events, and complex work item security schemes
  • Experience constructing JQL including advanced functions
Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:
  • Certification as Jira Administrator
  • Set up and use of Jira API's
  • Configuration of external application integrations (ex: GitHub and Bamboo) and Atlassian Marketplace 3rd party applications
  • AD/LDAP connection and configuration
  • HTML/Javascript
  • Structure
  • Zephyr Squad and/or Zepyr Scale
  • Basic understanding of load balancing and networking
