1About the position:
The Machinery Engineer is part of the Materials, Equipment, and Quality team within Chevron’s ENGINE Center and provides remote monitoring, diagnostics, and development of new solutions for critical rotating equipment across Chevron operating assets. Monitoring activities include the review of predictive analytics alerts and reviews vibration trends, providing insights to business unit customers through weekly or bi-weekly reporting and meetings.
Key responsibilities:
Performs remote support through exception-based monitoring of critical rotating and reciprocating machinery across Business Units and business segments, as an extended member of the Machinery and Power Support Center.
Supports expansion of predictive analytics and other advanced analysis tools for machinery performance evaluation and early warning detection.
Engages with Business Units on equipment troubleshooting and identification of long-term trend deviation and equipment degradation.
Utilizes online condition monitoring programs to support asset health evaluations.
Supports data collection and reporting for benchmarking of critical rotating equipment reliability and efficiency metrics.
Supports data gathering for advanced machinery issues and collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
Scales and develops analytics for machinery performance analysis and mechanical condition monitoring utilizing a combination of 3rd party and Chevron-developed solutions
Supports data gathering for equipment benchmarking
Teams with BU customers and Technical Center experts to diagnose complex issues
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university
Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation, maintenance, system optimization and machinery condition monitoring analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience as a machinery engineer or analyst in an Oil and Gas operating facility
Skilled use of SmartSignal predictive analytics software
Vibration analysis certification
Aveva PI time series data analysis
Prior experience working in Oil and Gas Processing facility
Prior experience using OSI Plant Information and SEEQ is a plus.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
