As Chief of Staff, you’ll work closely with our CEO, Jason Cottrell, to help Orium quickly take advantage of its biggest opportunities in composable commerce. You’ll bring clarity, focus, and momentum to high-impact initiatives and drive strategic execution across the organization.
This role requires both strategic foresight and operational excellence. You'll help set priorities, structure key initiatives, and drive execution across leadership and teams. You’ll also help keep leadership aligned, clear roadblocks, and speed up decision-making, ensuring the company stays focused and delivers results.
This role provides a unique opportunity to grow into senior leadership positions, such as COO, VP of Strategy, or other executive functions, based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities
- Drive Strategic Execution: Partner with the CEO to translate the big-picture strategy into actionable priorities and ensure follow-through across leadership and teams.
- Push Key Initiatives Forward: Own and unblock high-impact projects, keeping leadership focused on execution. Identify obstacles early and proactively problem-solve to maintain momentum.
- Make Decisions Faster & Smarter: Synthesize complex data into clear insights that help the CEO and leadership team move quickly with confidence. Prepare analysis, reports, and recommendations that cut through noise and drive action.
- Enable Leadership Effectiveness: Ensure leaders stay aligned and accountable and help maintain a culture of high focus and performance. Foster collaborative and positive working relationships within the executive team by facilitating open dialogue, identifying and addressing potential conflicts, and raising up key issues for resolution.
- Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a bridge between teams, ensuring seamless coordination on strategic priorities. Reduce friction and enable leaders to operate at full capacity.
- Scale the CEO’s Impact: As the CEO's strategic right-hand, you will serve as a key advisor and confidant, proxy in key meetings, help prioritize and escalate decisions, and act as a force multiplier to ensure the smooth execution of company-wide initiatives.
- Facilitate Key Meetings: Organize and lead leadership meetings and offsites by establishing and maintaining agendas, managing discussion flow, capturing and synthesizing notes and ensuring action items are clearly defined with owners.
- Ensure High Impact Communications: Support the CEO in key meetings, external engagements, board and investor relations, and thought leadership initiatives, ensuring Orium’s vision is clearly articulated to customers, partners, and the industry. Facilitate clear communication between the CEO, other executives and different departments by channeling information, facilitating working sessions, summarizing key points and addressing communication gaps.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff in a strategy or operations role (consulting, high-growth tech, or startup experience preferred).
- Proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment between teams and guiding projects from planning to execution.
- Strong analytical skills. You use data to inform decisions, bridge different perspectives, and drive action.
- Financial acumen demonstrated by understanding of how financials and models impact strategy.
- Possesses a strong understanding of how systems, such as organizational structure and incentive programs, influence behavior and outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. You translate complex ideas into clear, actionable insights while fostering alignment across stakeholders.
- Adaptability & bias for action. You anticipate challenges, pivot when needed, and drive outcomes.
- Able to lead by influence.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate complex dynamics, resolve conflicts and foster a positive organizational culture.
