Job description

A Solution Architect plays a critical role from inception to go-live for our Infor M3 Cloud suite implementation projects. The SA works with project teams and clients to lead the functional side of implementations, verifying requirements, understanding business processes and troubleshooting solutions. The SA will make recommendations on specific business process changes and the appropriate technological solutions (including integrations and/or ISV solutions) needed for successful project deployment. SA will assist with estimating timelines, budgets and associated costs during the presales process.

During implementations, the Solution Architect will serve as a lead functional overseer, facilitating and advising the functional consulting team on solution design, ensuring best practices are being followed for Infor M3 Cloud suite configuration and development, working across all workstreams to ensure the entire solution meets project scope and requirements. The SA may support two or more projects at any given time. In this role you will be expected to lead a group to facilitate discussions, establish group consensus, communicate at a senior level, and represent Columbus as team leader and business expert. The SA is the trusted advisor to clients and will interact with a variety of users at all levels, including C-level executives.

Responsibilities of the Lead Solution Architect include:

  • Lead client meetings for discovery, planning and envisioning of solution.
  • Convey solution vision to Columbus consultants with clear and strong communication skills- both verbally and in written format.
  • Serve as liaison to PM on project work break down and scheduling.
  • Review configuration and design changes to ensure cohesiveness with forward thinking solution mentality.
  • Review and final quality review on design related deliverables.
  • Provide best practice guidance for all phases of the project.
  • Produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Coordinate with technical team members to translate functional needs into technical outcomes.
  • Actively work with Technical and Developmental Leads on solution design.
  • Author workflows, specifications, or presentations to support projects as needed.
  • Develop and archive reusable artifacts to improve implementation process.
  • Stay current in software improvement and new features.
  • Understand basic features of common ISVs.
  • Support Pre-sales team as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a functional lead role that includes previous implementation experience working with Infor M3 specifically.
  • Must have completed multiple full life cycle implementations with Infor M3 across industries in a client facing/consultant capacity (minimum of 7).
  • 5+ years of consulting experience with core Infor M3 ERP and at least 2+ years of experience with M3 cloud platform.
  • At least 2+ years playing a M3 Solution Architect role. Experience with systems development lifecycle planning and/or Agile Methodologies, cost estimation/economics, requirements gathering. Functioning (Hands on) knowledge of core M3 application configuration (including, but not limited to org structure, master data, manufacturing, sales, order management, procurement, warehousing, logistics).
  • Degree in Business or Information Technology.
  • Experience implementing software in multi-tenant, multi-location, and multi-national organizations.
  • Prior experience managing or leading a group or mentoring individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Ability to work with client and internal teams with a sense of leadership with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, periodically, in order to coordinate as necessary with both global team members and clients.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Infor M3 Cloud suite specific certifications
