About your role

We are looking for an experienced, performance-driven Legal Paraprofessional (Paralegal) to join the Rocket Lawyer team. In this vital role, you will deliver direct legal services to our diverse customer base, addressing a wide range of legal issues in alignment with Rocket Lawyer’s mission to make affordable and simple legal services accessible to all.

To be successful, you should be comfortable with technology, possess strong legal acumen, and have the communication skills to effectively convey legal information to clients.

How you will make a difference day to day

You will help ensure that Rocket Lawyer continues to deliver legal assistance effectively and efficiently to customers. You will be responsible for the following: 

  • Reviewing customer legal documents and related questions to understand their legal needs.
  • Drafting written reviews of each legal document that highlights errors, summarizes risks and obligations, and answers questions relevant to the customer’s legal situation. 
  • Maintaining and updating the legal team database for document reviews, proactively adding new and relevant information to ensure comprehensive and current records.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on a wide range of legal issues across multiple jurisdictions, as needed, to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Collaborating with attorneys on document reviews, questions, and legal research.
  • Assisting customers over the phone and through video, working in a professional and friendly manner while educating clients on our services and products.
  • Working collaboratively with the Rocket Lawyer Operations teams to ensure prompt and effective resolution of concerns raised by Rocket Lawyer customers.

What you’ll need

  • At least 3 years practical experience as a paralegal
  • An associate degree or a certificate in paralegal studies (a bachelor's degree in a related field may be acceptable)

A plus if you have

  • Working in a law firm
  • Familiarity with automation software 
  • Working in a startup environment
  • Using Salesforce for case and/or customer management
  • Working in an alternative business structure environment
  • Strength in one or more of the following practice areas: Business Formation/Corporate Compliance, Business Contracts, Employment, Landlord/Tenant
  • Strong research skills with the ability to interpret and apply legal principles
  • Tech-savvy enough to learn and use our tools and processes
  • A willingness to learn new concepts and practice areas
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Google Suite (experience with Microsoft Office Suite can also be important)
  • Excellent communication skills, including via video and phone
  • IT proficiency, including fast/accurate typing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong desire for self-improvement demonstrated by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge, and innovations that affect both the legal sector and our business

Compensation
$68,000 - $80,000

 

Actual compensation packages are determined by various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, specific work location, and performance during the interview process.
